I'm going to restore this thing I've bought for that.Oh My.
We have one of them at MIS waiting on restoration.
Plus I'm a machinist and I love tools involved in this profession

I'm sure you can just DIY endoscope and hydro test if that desperate lolSome places that fill them can also do the tests.
My nearest is Stoney Cove in Leicestershire....
No, you can't.I'm sure you can just DIY endoscope and hydro test if that desperate lol
They won't fill them if not in test, and not many people have access to high pressure pumps.I'm sure you can just DIY endoscope and hydro test if that desperate lol

Nice Abwood machine vice just needs new jaws making.

Bigger than it looks 4.5"!Nice 3" vice !
The jaws look to be for a specialized purpose. It would seem easy enough to mill the protrusions down, and just clean up the top of the jaws ?
Mini 300 bar electric pumps are surprisingly cheap nowadays, what's even more surprising is you can get the mini scuba tanks with regulator for under £100They won't fill them if not in test, and not many people have access to high pressure pumps.

southampton uni ? how did you find it was for sale ?( not that I want or need a pantograph) ..did nt realise poaching was a done thing(my neck of t woods)View attachment 459093
So today, there I was minding my own business... When this just followed me home from Southampton Uni.
A Taylor-Hobson Model C Pantograph, complete with all the original equipment, manuals, and the Rotary Engraving and Precision Scale Marking attachments.
£50 courtesy of the Mechanical Workshop at the Physics Department who were having a clear-out to make room for new machines.
Unclear where I am going to put it, but that's a problem for future me.
They listed some bits on eBay, with the department's approval, on the agreement anything they made would go straight back into the workshop budget.southampton uni ? how did you find it was for sale ?( not that I want or need a pantograph) ..did nt realise poaching was a done thing(my neck of t woods)

used to also use Toluene in tape in printing of cross woven filament tape printing.I think that Toluene is a traditional ingredient of petrol system cleaners. Needs handling with care though.
It's also an octane booster for high performance engines. I remember a time when I was top speed racing my bike these three guys bought turbo charger systems for their bikes from America and instead of forking out for proper race fuel they mixed their own concoction with toluene. At least 2 might have been all 3 engines melted their pistons on the first high power run. All for £130 worth of fuel.
looks in good nick , enjoy ..when you find a space for it .They listed some bits on eBay, with the department's approval, on the agreement anything they made would go straight back into the workshop budget.
