Shame the sender didn't scrrew a relatively fragile casting to 50p worth of scrap ply. £10 worth of ply and timber offcuts and you could drop it out of a 1st floor window or treat it like a courier, they are about the same.shame parcelforce broke the base in transit

Appears lidl have also changed their 12v tools day from Sunday to today. Therefore I will be returning to buy one of their 12v ratchets and 12v torches. Torch itself looks runbish but I'll open it up and add a switched XT60 plug on the side for powering other devices!

Oxy fuel brazing would be my choice.
Now, I'm not sure it will survive the postal service to here and back but happy to find out.

Thanks for the kind offer, I think the carriage cost will kill it, shame your not closer! ill have to manage for now and might be able to find someone local to do it if needed
Needed to be in a crate, not a flexible taped up cardboard box.
If it's heavy, simple application of that thing found by Sir Isaac will make it contact the ground with rather more force than a lighter item.
Seeing as the rest of it looks okay, was it simply components colliding inside the package?
I got a starter motor yesterday (85 flippin' quid - when did a simply Lucas M35J start cost that much?!!>?!) - arrived with loads of shock absorbing packaging around the main body . . and bug ger all at either end - luckily no damage. If I package anything, I try to provide protection all around - so far, 20 odd years of ebaying sending car bits around the world, they all seem to have arrived intact.

This thing is nice, I should have got one years ago!I ordered an Edge 530 last night.
I wanted to upgrade my watch anyway, I want one that will record rowing (Currently I record it as a ride and change it in Strava), so I was using the power meter to help justify it, I could make do seeing the data on my wrist, but ultimately went for the Edge for the map/navigation, I hate trying to follow Google Maps in my ear.
I'm not sure about the placement of it, I've had to move my TT bars apart to fit it. I've seen top cap mounts to put it on the stem, that might be a better spot for it.
I need to do an FTP test now.

Very nice! I have the top cap mounts on my bikes which is great for keeping it out of the way of lights etc. It does mean it is then quite far out of your field of vision though. If you are going to be using it to maintain a specific, constant power level, you will end up looking down, looking up, looking down, looking up... My spatial awareness isn't the best, which sometimes results in brown Lycra moments.
I'd recommend getting a protective cover and a screen protector for it.
