I was working on the principle that the quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten!
So this evening I've worked on the 126 ,while dismantling the interiors I've found that plate under the rear seat .This evening
Despite it doesn't look so great
They are toolmakers clamps. more commonly used in grinding or precision millingFrom Thursday's tool rescue.
I have never held such clamps in my hands before, they are so uncommon in our country.
Until now I only knew them from illustrations in British books on turning and milling or occasionally here in the forum.

Why now an old railroad man in southwest Germany had a selection of them and why those in more special design are paired numbered is beyond me.

The clamps are well made and once I have them sorted into my mental toolbox as available, I look forward to working with them - I am curious.
