Irony being there is a good chance it may have actually been made in the Ukraine, as they have a strong history of manufacturing and machinery, and of course probably weren't neighbours at the time when it was made.

I’ve not come across much Russian / USSR (as this is, so it’s pre ‘91) stuff, but when I have it’s been well made. Perhaps not “German Engineering” but strong, functional and easy to repair.

I’ve used a Russian lathe on a ship and that was a good bit of kit. This vice is decent enough. Doesn’t offend me. It offended me more that some **** threw out a perfectly good vice.

I follow the developments of things there quite closely, but it never occurred to me to throw my Soviet watches, timing machines, power generators, measuring instruments etc. in the rubbish.

That wouldn't be very rational either, would it? In any case, it wouldn't change a thing.

It would be much more helpful if the West stopped buying Russian oil, which has doubled Putin's oil revenues since the invasion began, because we have to pay world market prices but an authoritarian ruler can dispose of his country's resources as he sees fit.

This, among other things, finances this illegal war of aggression.

My country alone has paid €9.5 billion for oil to Russia in the two months since the invasion began, followed by UK, Netherlands, Italy ....

European energy policy and making it harder to hide large illicit assets in London would be rational approaches to the issue.

I have a black and Decker grinder that was made in Russia, would not knowingly by anything new from Russia now. My Dainese motorcycle leathers are marked made in Ukraine

I'm blaming @Kayos. Been wanting some type of portable inflator for a while, so his post prompted me to get one. Only tried it on these tyres so far, (25psi),



but it seems quick, simple & effective. Set the desired pressure on the gauge, press & hold the trigger, & it switches off when it reaches the set pressure.

I used it to convert my gravel bike tyres to tubeless, needed a blast of co2 to initially seat the bead but that has inspired another project.

I like it, managed to blow the tubeless tyres up once the sealant was in no issues

Must say that I'm impressed with it too. Wasn't expecting much of it, but it seems quite nippy. It'll be a godsend for using on that trolley, barrow, sack truck etc. Tyres always seem to be low when you need things most.
