. While we were away over the weekend I came across an old Stenor vulcanizer frame; not something I need, but I recall one of the member's here is considering to attempt converting one into a mini english wheel, so I might take a punt at making one also; like I need more projects.

Ok, will have to find your previous post. I've only had a couple cursory thoughts on how to approach modifying it. The lower arm should be no problem to install a saddle, but the upper wheel will need to have minimal travel from under the upper arm to keep the small diameter screw from bending. Will have to have a think on wheel sizes. I noticed some sets on ebay can be had quite cheaply considering the time and material cost involved to make them.

Tis was a good day.
I found some stuff, I was given some stuff and I gave stuff away.

Today, in Basingstoke, I found this. I saw it a few weeks ago and left it in case it was in use or the owner came back. Today I asked security and they said I could have it, as it was there for a long time.




It rattled and was heavy (ish)



The ratchet was seized, but a bit of oil had it loose.
All but one socket is Halfords. The odd one is the 8mm.
I am guessing there should be a set of Cross/pozzi head bits in there.



In a second hand shop I found a few bits.
Thread gauge, almost complete achimeadies drill, set of adjustable.
Unopened box of 13amp fuses.




Hard plastic and rubber mallet.

That lot £5

But the bargine was this trio.

A blow torch with a odd handle and a NSN number which is not a UK number. Plus 2 brand new Tilley lamp vaporisers.


I was given this item, I knew what it was, from experience and it's weight.



There was something about this box what I like.

It is in need of a lot of TLC

My first sewing machine was a Singer similar to that one. I used it initially to make fishing rod bags for friends and friends of friends ..cost me 2/6 at a jumble sale in 1963

Since my Delphi clone isn't that much use due to now being several years out of date, I figured I should probably buy something that actually works on newer vehicles.
Not used it yet, as I need to find something to try it on (doesn't list Transit Customs, or 2.0 ecoblue engines), but I've updated it, and I'll try and find a test vehicle tomorrow.

Winchboy has a full set he bought at an Autojumble in the box but no frame, so lets hope I can adapt mine to use his wheels.

Have you ever used it on an L200 please? Specifically a 2012 one?

No I havn't it is landrover /jaguar specific but it does state it will also read / clear fault codes on any OBD 2 compliant vehicle but I never had reason to try it
On the range rover it will diag every module on the car plus you can see live data on fuel and electrical systems when cars running and save data . It will reset any item that would need doing after general maintenance inc the steering angle sensor . So at less than a third of the price of the GAP ID 2 tool it does everything I need .

It's a hard standing area opposite the barn, it was covered in about 40 tonne of road planings but nature was taking over and I could do with something a bit more durable plus it needed levels sorting out so it could be used for parking as the missus runs various permaculture events through the year.

We already have parking for about 7 or 8 cars, but you always get the idiot that parks in the only place that screws up the parking for 4 other people. I have to be diplomatic when I call the person out to move their car, they may have spent money on a course. So my usual enquiry is, "whoever abandoned a car in the middle of the yard, could they move it please?"

Just for clarification, some of the forces used to substitute the rubber projectile with a D Cell battery, most notoriously during the "Troubles", caused a few deaths too. I find it hilarious how, despite loads of research and the most brilliant minds applied to a problem, couple of squaddies work around the restriction. There are loads of examples of this through history.

Just remember to make sure the positive end does not point in the wrong direction.

I've just finished repairing an old treadle machine we've had for years, a 1921 vintage Jones Medium CS as supplied to Queen Alexandra (it says on it) and I've been trying it out on some material. It sews quite well but my coordination need a bit of work treadling and steering material at the same time. We now have 3 treadle machines, the Jones, a Bradbury and a Singer.
