Now I am looking for a decent first aid box/ kit.
Looking at the contents of the one we have.
Why does it have 6 triangular bandages?
A card on how to dial 999?
2 plasters?
I have left my spare there with the correct stuff in it, in date as well, to treat the common accidents in a workshop.
Got out today.
@Parm. Your call saved me going into another shop.

A decent roofers bit and brace. Needs a clean. But the jaws work and it has decent springs.

Smaller versions of the adjustable spanner. The jaws will need work. But I know hoe to get it done now.

Don’t you mean I saved you from getting into more trouble from Mrs TYA
Well, it was sitting there all alone on the shelf, surrounded by those common fellows from Calor, so I thought I'd rescue it.
I have the notion of getting the right neck and burner for a bit of silver soldering and hopefully achieve a sufficiently high temp for some brazing, which according to Sievert's bumph can be done at 720degC, so that opens a door or two. Propane is dead cheap and if it means I don't need to get into an oxygen cylinder rental or contract, that's fine and dandy.

You’ll struggle to silver solder with that, not impossible but difficult.
No way is that going to get anything hot enough for brazing. I’ve tried and failed
I find it unlikely that Sievert would be claiming 720degC when it can be easily demonstrated that they're full of it, if that wasn't true. They're not some anonymous ebay seller claiming the earth, and everbody knows they're to be taken with a pinch / barrowload of salt.
Whatever, if it does some silver soldering, that'll do me. I don't have much to braze, and in nearly all of the instances I would think of brazing something, a spot of silver solder would do just as well - fuel tap mountings, small pipes, etc.
See for yourself...

Were you using the correct nozzle? There's a fair choice.
I’ve got five or six different nozzles on the older model of that torch. I can see the claim now. Silver solder on jewlerry probably quite possible. I tried silver soldering something a bit bigger and it failed miserably.
Never managed to braze anything with just propane
It came with the 7kW torch head, and I've got my eye on the cyclone burner with 10kW, so that should get things going.
if using propane then a cheap way to get it hotter is V in a couple of psi of compressed air....makes a massive difference to the flame tempsWell, it was sitting there all alone on the shelf, surrounded by those common fellows from Calor, so I thought I'd rescue it.

How would you do that exactly?if using propane then a cheap way to get it hotter is V in a couple of psi of compressed air....makes a massive difference to the flame temps![]()
brazing capability - use gas fire radiants around what you want to braze to keep the heat in.
