Driven by curiosity, I ordered one of these generic welding carts from Aliexpress, curious to see what I'd get for less than a tenner delivered.
Imagine my surprise when the item arrived through my letter box this afternoon.
I had to do this in the interests of science but even so, I wasn't expecting this to arrive. Is it an SDS+ drill chuck adaptor? Refund has been offered, so no harm done but I have to say I was rather hoping for a welding cart, even a pocket sized one!

I bet the guy in China who made the error in the barcoding gets a right royal ear bending if current news articles are anything to go by .
Remember if it sounds too good to be true , then it most likely is ..

Your first clue it is a scam seller is all the items available for under £10 that are definitely worth a lot more than £10.
Your second clue it is a scam seller is that the business licence is dated December 2024, first rule of aliexpress is never purchase from new sellers
I guess the first rule for a would-be scammer would be to not sell your tat on a site that offers (and honours) refunds for incorrectly described products. Once they have refunded the modest payment and paid for me to return the goods, it's not going to make the guy rich any day soon unless I'm missing something. I'd suggest he doesn't give up his day job quite yet! Those carts are usually £35-40 or so.

Had to go out today with a friend yo get parts for his jag Restoration, we stopped for lunch and at a Nice place near Exeter.

Got for spares, but it is in better condition than the one to be restored.

It is excellent. Really cool to see thermal details around windows and that sort of thing. I like Topdon products I have their battery testers this years.
I will upload some photos from it later today.

That's quite a good film, it was on BBC4 a while back. I quite enjoy a decent music tour documentary if it's well done, regardless of who it's about and whether I like their music.

Today I almost acquired a very very loud running V8 in the 6x6.
Had a friend pop down from Zumerzet who knows Rover V8s more or less inside out and also Megasquirt. So whilst I chopped and welded the exhaust down pipes to fit Pete ran the remainder of the wires to distribute power. I then remade the HT leads with the correct connectors on the end and we finished off wiring.
Pete forgot his timing light and TDC tool so he guessed at the timing in TunerStudio and we got it almost firing but there's a slightly dodgy CAM signal by the looks of it so we called it quits and he headed home.
Considering we had no exhaust at all, only about 1/4 of the ECU and engine wiring done, none of the fuel tank plumbing I'm quite pleased and impressed how much we got done.
Time to look at the CAM next and then accurately find TDC to see if It barks into life before sorting out the cooling system.

And I still couldn't get the seal in.
Need to do it somewhere warm, as I think the seal was just a little bit too cold and inflexible to get it to deform enough to get it into it's slot, as I could only get about half of it located before it just wouldn't flex to get the rest in.
