Something I could never expect is how lightweight it is.
I'm used to cheap Chinese brush cutters and even some other brand name one, this thing is a feather, feels like you aren't holding anything really

Try using the longreach hedgecutter attachment on it for a hour or two. Your arms won't think it's light then.

It will probably only see the brush cutter attachment for now.

Couple of things:

I never seem to have enough plugs and bungs for blanking off holes and tubes, and for some reason they seem to be very expensive to buy the "proper" ones.
I thought I'd give these a try, a cheapy kit of silicone taper bungs, and some lab stoppers for the bigger sizes. Also a couple of reels of Tesa tape to make up the order.

Was eying these up for a while but prompted by the recent thread to have a search about and found one of these on eBay, tool, 20 inserts and some spare bearings for under 25 quid.

Seems to work OK, tried it on aluminium and steel - the exhaust position is a bit annoying but otherwise tool seems solid enough.

It can be a bit tricky to get a nice chamfer as the base of the tool is quite small so it does have a tendency to tip.
The main limitation seems to be how thick the material has to be in order for the bearing and the cutter to be in contact.
Too thin material or too large a chamfer and the material can drop into the gap between the bearing and the tip of the cutter.

I do have a project in mind where it will be useful though, when I eventually get around to it....

Thanks but look closer, it's quite different. The one I have has a box section handle and will only do 900mm. I'm wanting to bend 1mm stainless with it really.

There are also quite a few similarities.

One way to find out might be to try a narrower piece of 1mm stainless sheet, say 200mm wide, close to one of the set screws. See how it feels bending that, and go from there.

Gifted to me, as the owners hve had an up grade over the last few days, or do not know what they are for. Or. Give it to TYA has he can sort out a future.

Theses are not bad items, if you treat them with a bit of care. lways fit a decent blade.

Yep deffo the same as mine Clive. I’ve only done 20 gauge - what’s that? About 1mm ish I think.
Does a reasonable job but not the tightest of bends - ok for what I do with it though.

Replacing the flimsy triangular reinforcement with a 120x10mm flat bar, would surely increase the workpiece thickness

I’ve got one of those, with a strimmer attachment and the pole hedge trimmer - a very decent bit of kit, the strimmer makes light work of pretty heavy rough grass.
