...but what is it?

It's an adjustable pole using the vertical support struts off a big scrapped trampoline using a 6 to 1 pulley to hoist fencing panels out or put them back into H section concrete posts on your own or of you're a decrepit old geezer like me you can do it with your lass . Taking the rotting ones out was easy I used a 9 inch rough timber sabre saw to cut them in half in situ..

Seconded. Use them at work now as well as for myself Really decent quality, especially considering they are cheap.
I actually had a tour around their blade making/sharpening shop the other week! Not exciting, but nice to see their operation.

I think the skill in cutting the saw blade strip to the right length so you get the fused point between the root of a pair of teeth and still have the run of alternate off set teeth is something that gets over looked by quite a few blade makers . I've sent quite a few specially made up 1/2" bi metal band saw blades for my 17 yr old two speed Rexon hobby saw back still in the poly bags they arrived in as I used a magnifying glass to enlarge the joint and like some of you say two teeth are on the same set or you get a full tooth and a half tooth either as offsets in pair or alternates.
What did annoy me was that they took the blades back and charged me £ 7.80 P&P for the new blades ( marked them with a UV security pen ) & didn't send a apology .

The replacement blades were perfect & so should they be as they charged me £ 58 for a pair of them .

These vans are notorious for injectors seizing in the head!

Blown turbos and Gearbox problems are all to common.

And whoever thought putting the brake bleed nipples in the middle of the brake caliper needs shooting!

Best part is it is full of stuff mostly sockets and spanners a lot of it is snap-on and the rest is a hodge podge of britool, kamasa and draper.

There is one particularly strange socket in there, big (didn't have time to measure but probably around 2") that reduces down a 1/2" drive. For the size of it I would have expected at least 3/4"??

A nice Record No23 vice. Needs a good strip and clean but its generally had little use.

Membership of a working men's club. Its unusual in being in the middle of nowhere and run completely by volunteers. It only sells decent ale and is next to a river, ideal as a walking destination over the moors.

From home it's about 8 miles, or 9 going the extra scenic route, so a 3 hour walk, so you burn off the calories before you put them back on, all part of the beer diet

Is that 8 or 9 miles in a straight line, or have you taken zig stagger into account?

(Hazet ¾" deep impact E20 + E24 torx, ¾" T80 and T90 torx bits and a ⅜" deep E12 torx.)



Pleased to report it has worked. I feel much better.

I decided to pop into the local charity shop as I was passing and had a look at the books. I found a couple which interested me, the "Manual of Seamanship" Vol 1, published by the Admiralty in 1951. All thing relating to ships and boats and the Navy. The second might come in handy if I ever get hold of some Naval artillery pieces "The Gunnery Pocket Book" also published by the Admiralty but in 1945. They must have had bigger pockets back in 1945, it measures 245mm x 160mm. All you need to know about lobbing shells at other ships and the relevant terminology. Some great illustrations in foldout pages in the rear of the book. I shall attempt to take some pics if there's any interest.

My mate won a set of Saltus OJ's , ROJ and DE metric ring spanners 4,5 ..6,7.... ,8,9...,10 ,11...12,13.....14 ....15 , 16....17 , 18.....19 ,20 ..... 21, 22 ...... 23, 24,.... 25 , 27 & 28 , 29 in a Christmas raffle in 1970,
I won a 36inch chest Wrangler sweat shirt ( They were quality tops in those days.) .

As I was a 44 inch chest & he was barely a 38 inch chest ... he'd no use for spanners being a clerk so he asked me if I'd swap my prize with his. It was hard not to rip his extended arm off .

I was doing a long over due mancupboard tidy yesterday and today .. In all that time I have only Killed the 13mm ROJ when I snapped the ring end whilst working is a scrap yard in Germany trying to undo one of the super glued in bolts on a smashed up BMW . The 10 mm ROJ was cut in half to allow me to remove the difficult to get at magneto BA mounting bolts on a Mighty Antar's Meteorite 205 RR petrol engine . ( still got both parts)
The 10 mm ROJ was replaced with a Britool 10 mm in 1974 .
The owner of the scrap yard brought me a brand new Hazet 13 mm ROJ
The Saltus spanners now have had a bit of surface discoloration but are still in fantastic condition , the Hazet spanner is almost as good ...not bad for 52 years of almost every day hard abuse free engineering

Best gauges ever built..i know the owner of the company,sadly the company has been wound up. BTW you don't need damping clamps with these gauges as they are fantastically damped from within

Nice gauges but be careful of the threaded adapters as they break easily!

You do know that curled up lip at the back is for holding your fag while using the hacksaw..they thought of everything

I have a 23, good to know about the fag rest! I don't smoke though
