Torques done 'something' as it will now start, but wont help with the service light or abs or airbag light... Dash command doesnt seem to work at all....

It's a bit of a mine field with code readers if they'll work with different software's, tbh my primary use is with Customers Motorcycles and I got the OBDLINK LX on recommendation in the trade and I use it with Tune ECU & MotoScan.
I down loaded Torque to have a play with my Pug 407 again it was recommended as I don't have much experience with Cars and ODB.
What Car are you playing with and what reader out of interest ?
I also use a decent adapter lead when plugging into to the BMW 10 pin Diag port, Used cheap and they've let me down.

Im currently having issues with a usb obd reader but for a vauxhall of that age you want opcom, can do 90% of what a tech2 can do and the 10% you will probably never need

Decided to upgrade the poor quality oiler I use on my Myford to:

they were recommended on a Myford site and I could not see myself paying for the £80 Myford want for a Wanner. Will let folk know how I get on with it.

So I am lying in a hospital bed on pain killers with no feeling in my right leg and hardly any movement in my left leg, so started thinking how will I make it easier to manage to drive my Landy: latterly gear selection not as good as it used to be.

So a bit of research on my phone and I decide a new gearbox turret will remove selector wear and a quickshift kit will make gear selection easier: https://www.onlinegearboxparts.com/product/defender-lt77-slickshift/

Ok thats found a code of U2108 which is apparently the ABS module not communicating properly.. Got somewhere to stat looking now, Thanks.. And yes that probably was worth 2.95.

Actually yesterday but only got around to unloading it this afternoon. Single phase Nederman welding extract fan with 3 straight lengths of duct, each 1m long, one 90 degree bend and even managed to get the push button starter for it. Will need to get an inlet adaptor but a good start.

I get my staples out on Monday and will take advice of Physio, do not want to set myself back, realistically I am unlikely to be up to driving for a few months yet. Having the muscles cut back from just below the shoulder blades to access the spine, means even stripping the meat of a chicken yesterday I was in a fair degree of pain.

Take it easy on yourself with your recuperation , it's coming winter and you may not be as active as you wish , too much arm chair time /inactivity . Come spring this may have a sobering impact on you .
The last spinal op I had was a decompression at T11,12 & L1 . I'm still having difficulties with it 4 yrs later . Same with the total knee jobby after 3 years from having it
After the first spinal problem op 25 yrs ago it took me nearly 8 months to use my left leg on the clutch , the pudding stick use was problematic , driving a manual was so difficult & painful I had to have to have an automatic vehicle , I've had one for the last 18 years .

Have come to realise that the total left knee replacement , total shoulder rebuild & two spinal ops will never ever return me to the bullet proof 26 yr old I used to be , plus I now almost 70 yrs old .

My wife and medical staff tell me the same

They told me I have a very positive mental attitude which is great for recovery but danger is I try to do too much which will risk recovery.

All the physio exercises are being done to the letter. Hopefully from seeing my consultant next Friday I will get the full details of what is next, I have not been through Radium treatment before, so that will be a new one for me as it is scheduled to start in 3 weeks.

Not the best quality, but there doesn't seem to be a middle ground: its either cheap'n'nasty or

"How much!!!!"

These will get me started until i know the actual tools I need.

The cheap and nasty sets are just as good I've found. The main thing is to have a shedload of different ones, you'll find you quickly find a few favourites but you'd never know without trying all of them. In a normal year I teach basic pottery once a year and have piles of cheap ebay tools. The ball end ones are great for smoothing in the inside seams of slab bowls incidentally.

I just read my release notes last night, had to google what they meant: I have have had T6-T7 Laminectomy and debulking of tumour: looks like 6 to 8 week recovery ignoring the cancer follow up treatment. i had my right knee rebuilt in 91 following catching it on a car roof after they pulled out in front of my motorcycle on a 60 mph country road. Lucky I am only 55

Not recently - maybe 3 years ago - i bought a *lot* of off cuts of "signmaking" plastic for £100
I bought 100 pieces, 4m long x about 250mm wide and its c.1.5mm thick.
I clad a 10ftx10ft shed with it, and the rest has been sat in my garden ever since.

I found a sticker on a piece of it today.

It's *KYDEX* - as used to make knife + gun holsters.

At first glance at the ebay prices (20 quid for 5x a4 pieces) - there's about 5 grand's worth.

And thats before i declad the shed.
