Moved out of the elderly Daf and now back to doing it Swedish style. Much better motor, in fact it's chalk and cheese compared to the Daf, 60 ton/metre crane and a double extending trailer. Apart from the trial of having to find new homes for all my personal kit, sort out all the lifting gear, board out some of the trailer chassis for extra storage, and get to grips with yet another make of crane, all of which will take at least a couple of weeks, I'm looking forward to going to work next week, more so than I have for a while...

Is that crane heavier than the tractor unit?

Is that crane heavier than the tractor unit?

According to Hiab's website, 13 metre reach 60 ton/metre weighs in at about 5 tons, which is a long-winded way of saying no.

It will be interesting to get the rig on an axle weighbridge and see what it weighs empty, as well as finding out how close to maximum axle weights it's running at. The elderly Daf with a crane half the size and a single extending trailer was just shy of 28 tons, so a much bigger crane and a double extender should be well over 30.

I was given some oak , 7 feet . Cut it down to 6 feet and cut longways into two.

A table for the fly press i picked up earlier on in the week, it has got a mahogany top for it which has just been sanded and oiled ready to go on once this is re painted,
Not sure what it was off or used for but I liked it.

Put Stanley stone mason brick hammer into amazon & see a picture of one IIRC there is only one ground angled face on the hardened cutting end .

It was £35 from https://www.howard-rotavator-spares.com/shop
I did find a slightly wider tyre for less money (https://allterraintyres.co.uk/index...ucts_id=5037&zenid=2fucrs42lldcfdgn3sdgkpchc5 ), but there isn't much clearance between the tyre and the main pulley, so I opted for the more expensive narrow option.
