You sod, I’ve just got back on general haulage doing chipboard and fertiliser until harvest kicks off hopefully, so up and down the A1 at all gods hours looking for a weird Yorkshireman in a DAF and I’d managed to memorise your Reg! Now that’s ballsed it all up! Glad you’re happy again though

Is that Eejits old motor? Pass him on a regular basis, seen one of the DAFs a few times this week, but it wasn’t you, unless you’re built like a house?

The steelworks have decided that we now have to wear a face mask when loading, despite all loading taking place under an open to the elements canopy where katabatic winds howl through on their way from the Polar ice cap . After a modest set-to with them after I arrived for loading without a mask because no-one had told me I needed one, and they refused to accept a towel wrapped round my face, I decided to basically take the proverbial and wear something seriously over the top. Might go the whole hog next and start wearing a visor and a complete bio suit .

The previous driver was a s/e Polish lad who was paid off when Corona virus was invented, so the wagon has been parked up at Johnson's yard in Scunny most of the time. It's been taken out a few times by a few drivers, but mainly by local guy who used to drive a hiab wagon for the now defunct C and C transport and came here after they shut down and sold their motors to Somerscales, so as you can imagine, the interior is in need of some elbow grease .

I bought a couple of those a while ago. Used them for a while, but in the end went back to the original nuts & a pin spanner. I found with a few of the wheels I was using, the milwaukee nuts would tighten themselves up in use to the point that I had to get a pair of pliers on the flip-up handle to get them undone. It was happening so often that it didn't feel like they were adding much over the original nut so they got consigned to the "Where Tools Go To Die" drawer.

I've got a couple of those, and as you say, they do overtighten.
However, the bar on screwfix 6" f-clamps (which i have *lots* of) is the perfect size to use a lever - so still more convenient than the standard ones.

Went to see a mate today, and unexpectedly came away with 5ltr of hand sanitiser

He’s helping a local company decant IBCs into 5ltr tubs. A few weeks ago they were paying 16k for a 1000ltrs. It now down to less the 800quid

I acquired quite a few things today:

Two bargain hammers from a local car boot sale, a small saw and two more Narex chisels delivered from Yandles and a Chinese copy of a kerfmaker tool that I ordered a couple of months ago on ebay. The ruler and the pocket vernier aren't new, they just happened to be lying on the bench when I took the photo.

I've been very impressed with the Narex chisels. I now have three of them and of all the chisels I've got, they're the ones that needed the least work to get them nicely sharpened and shaped such that they're easy to resharpen: the back was very flat and the bevel almost exactly 25° and also flat. I have quite big hands, so I also like the chunky handles.

The hammers both have very slightly wobbly heads, so I'll have to do something about that.

Those cutting disc are ****e. Take far too much air to run them.
I turned up an arbor to take 4" thin cutting discs. Once too small to use on a grinder, they still have enough meat to use on the air tool.

I will try and make some adapters and i kept all my thin discs just for that reason,

About time I had a damned good tidy up in there, I don't think I've ever seen so much empty floor space!
