Centring and supporting/holding round parts for machining or inspection. They usually come in matched pairs to guarantee the height of a cylindrical workpiece is the same at both ends.

Big 3”, 4”, 6” ones go for a lot of money.

they are usually hardened and ground.

The rest of the old shed was also converted in useful timber for a MIS.

I got this.. 1970s stator from a cb350. replacing the one on my cb125s thats been written off. taking the bike up to 12v. Having a few problems with it, although the wifes ecstatic about that as its keeping me busy while on furlough

They are a nicely made bit of kit, was £34 of ebay, seller said it was his late father in laws who was an amateur radio nut, so thought well worth the bid, the 15v BLR121 batteries they use are quite pricey at £5 or £6 though.

Quite pleased with today's little haul

Vertex 6" rotary table with dividing plates and handle, no sector arms or other fiddly bits. Brand new but shop-soiled - £50

It just so happens that I have the correct tail stock for this, also new and shop-soiled, that I got in a box of assorted bits and pieces from @spencer 427

Next up a load of parallels, a couple of sine bars, some dowel pins, a 10x jeweller's loupe, a Chesterman 6" ruler, and a couple of unusual collet sets with holders. They seem to have a universal drive ball end. The collets are marked in sizes which are all calibre sizes to my way of thinking: 0.177/0.205/0.238

The rust is surface and not as bad as it appears in the photo apart from the one at the top. But it'll clean up.
