Another freebie - Yesterday morning I got this nice little Clarke compressor. It's working, but in need of some TLC - The valve for draining the water is missing so it couldn't build up pressure, I put my finger over the hole and watched the needle rise in the gauge. The paint is peeling off one end of the tank so that will need to be taken care of as well.

The airline is damaged and will be replaced. I assume the nail gun is working, but didn't have the means to test it. From searching online these tools seem to have been sold as a bundle.

I intercepted one just like it at the tip a while ago. The nail gun works, it too had a knackered airline!

I was avoiding fixing the bike, had a look in back of garage. Found a hand vice, and two 1" 26tpi taps. They were not marked which standard, anyone know if it is a common thread or useful for anything?

i know i've got a die that size, and those are the two jobs i've bought 1" dies for

I wouldn't have thought a lathe spindle. But certainly something on a cycle, since 26tpi is the default pitch for most cycle (CEI) threads ( and brass threads too)

My Neighbour has just left, but he has also left me with some nice items.

I asked him to fix a Old Del Lap top.
He did, plus he got me a spare.



This is very useful for me, as it has a "Serial Port". Old tech. I know. But still use when communicating with Fire Alarm Panels.

Plus a few bits from his Dads garage.



A mix of used and new.
But useful to me.

Not sure if this is entirely correct, but a friend of mine in California who was a retired peace officer, came back from a trip to the Philippines and told me that hand guns were allowed to be privately owned, but rifles were not.
He said the reason was that …………… " a government can't be overthrown with handguns. "

There's truth in that. But there's no "hunting" culture in the Philippines like elsewhere in the World. There's not much of a sporting gun culture either, though pistol target shooting is recognised. That partially explains your comment. There are no rifle calibres readily available (.22 long rifle and magnum excepted). What your friend refers to are military calibres. He's sort of correct.
Mostly people who own guns, handguns or pump / semi - auto shotguns are common for so called self defence. Very few gun owners even practice at the range.
I'm lucky. I belong to a group of shooters who take things a bit more seriously and between us have fair range of handguns and rifles to shoot. We are a mixed group of retired and active servicemen, firemen, technicians, farmers .. you name it. We all like to shoot. That's it!

Don't know if they are still in business, but a US company called "Metalform" manufactured the best quality magazines for the .45 auto. Well worth looking for, they are made in both in steel and stainless steel variations; the follower design works flawlessly.
