a little bull nosed plane.
got it in a waterlogged box of "bits" (old bolts, screws and car bits) from MIL's husband about 20 yrs ago. - where it looked like a solid lump of rust.
threw it in the citric acid tank a couple of years ago, and just found it when i've come to clean out the crud from the bottom.
quick polish with the proxxon, and it turns out its actually brass, or bronze!
I'm guessing bronze? as the acid would have leeched out the zinc, leaving it more copper-y?

i'll post more later, although subsequent polishing shows it might not be brass.
i think it was off the brass brush i was using. although wierdly it didnt colour the blade or screws.
.gun metal? i suppose quick test would be to use a magnet.

Looks like bronze. De-zincified brass is a miserable and useless material, it goes crumbly and the colour is nauseous.
Cool find! ( I'm a big fan of bronze )
Bronze can take a fine edge.. and it would work in a plane, I would guess, but need sharpening more often than steel.

Got a few bits of Ebay,
A large spanner that will hopefully fit the inner track rod on the Surf and a set of Halfords Professional long hex bits and Allen keys.
Also a pair of thin jaw wide opening adjustable spanners again for the track rods, once I'm under there I don't want to find I don't have the right tools again!

got these a while ago, came across them today, not used them yet, but they are different to the norm, they have hard rubber rollers! what were they intended for? as a clue they most likely came from the bank of England printing works workshop,

I've used it already for a small job however I need to wait for some guide bushes and cutters for the Leigh dovetail jig to be delivered before it gets a lot more use. The intention is to use my Dewalt corded for the tails, and the Milwaukee for the pins, that way I don't have to keep swapping cutters. I have depth jig to help set the cutter depth but they always differ slightly when changing cutters meaning either a tight or sloppy dovetail and much messing about. This way once set up correctly I can breeze through all 40+ dovetailed drawers and trays for the kitchen without fiddling about.
This is my second Milwaukee 18v Fuel router. The other one is sat in a work colleague's desk in Chicago waiting for the next time somebody comes over to the UK. That may be a while so will probably sell that to another US work colleague.

Excellent bit of kit.
Doubt very much you will regret buying that
Prefer it over my old 110v trimmers

Half acquired an engine driven welder today
It's old ,it has not electronics .
The thing is capable of 16kW three phase
Maybe 10 single phase and 400A .
But it has a very big issue
No engine someone took it out
For this reason I'll probably get it for free

Yesterday the owner has told me that he would like to bring this engine driven to the scrapyard , this morning he said me that someone offer 1000 Euros for the engine only which to me was missing in action .Half acquired an engine driven welder today

I practically laughed at him in face via messages
People is strange I can get a entire working engine driven welder with 1000 euros expecially in this period because peoples are desperate
