Seems to be catching, I (almost) did some welding myself today:



I realy couldn't do without the "grasshopper fixture now I have one, helps with laying up enormously :



That was one end fixed where some nugget had snapped the bolt handle clean off, then the other end, the ejector was missing, back to making Jewellery again:



I have a technique I use to get these tiny bits of silver steel turned down to these sort of sizes
the major diameter of the pin is 3/16":



The one on the right is the original ejector pin, the one at the bottom is my new replacement:



Needed a roll pin, 1/16" I had some in the "stores":

Got to fix the old combi microwave roof ready for cooking Chrimbo dinner. This is the grill vent and it's burnt through. Because of the jagged edges drooping down it made the thing spark when the microwave was on. Lads's printing me a jig so I can drill a thin stainless sheet and rivet it on.

Simply put, SWMBO "likes" the old one. A bit like when she had her old Pug 206 smashed up. She had to have another 206 the same. The fact it's a slightly different blue irks her.

This microwave tbh is a "they don't make them like this anymore" job. Separate heating elements for oven and grill rather than one element and ducted.

As an aside our daughter is autistic. Is it any wonder?

Placing here as it's related to my making post & more folk will see it but any recommendations for laser cutting this printed part in 316 stainless, either an online service or someone on here? I just can't face drilling that many holes. As for thickness then "thin". Haven't measured it yet but guessing circa 0.5mm.

I have some stainless perforated sheet , a bit thicker than 0.5mm, doubt it would get to you before Christmas.

Just buy some perforated sheet, plenty of sellers on eBay who do small sizes.

Nope I think on balance you are quite sane.

Our Bosch has been going for a long time...every few years it needs a belt or motor or heater...easy fixes.

I looked at getting a new dishwasher recently...air dry the dishes....wireless connected too...nope!!!

Ahh sorry, I read "pitch" in your previous message at "patch", I was assuming you meant you wanted that same border around the piece. What is the pitch and hole size? I'd expect you can find something pretty close if not exactly the same.

I don't imagine it's actually very critical, it looks like the heating element is in it's own little shield so it's not like you're relying on the screen to keep the microwaves in, it's probably more to keep your fingers and pieces of food off of the heating element.
