Yeah these style corners started in ‘64 with the flat spot to mount swivelling sun visors. In ‘66 they went back to normally hinged visors but didn’t get rid of the flat spot.So did you rescue them and swap over? Something to do with the different visor mounts on the mk1?

That’s what I call a lovely weld. Back in the day I occasionally needed to weld a shaft to an industrial bakery oven fan but always found welding around a shaft difficult.Few things,
