Few things,
an extension shaft so that I can hopefully fit a different encoder onto a servo as the Hiperface one was playing up.
It fitted to the motor.
A new spindle for a finning machine.
And then some ends for a pair of gunwale rollers I am making. I have Magmaweld 316 rods, they are ok but not as nice as the Esab ones I used to be able to get locally.
Got one turned fully.
And welded into the pipe, the others I will turn and weld tomorrow as well as rebuild the finning machine if the new seals and motor arrive.

Yes it’s Upol weld2 copper.
So did you rescue them and swap over? Something to do with the different visor mounts on the mk1?

Yeah these style corners started in ‘64 with the flat spot to mount swivelling sun visors. In ‘66 they went back to normally hinged visors but didn’t get rid of the flat spot.
These ones have been salvaged for what is otherwise a nearly all new shell.

Marlow paint have 20% off on t’bay making it £10/can which seems pretty good on other prices I’ve seen
104 holes in 26 pieces of flat bar I cut up, although I drilled the holes in 2 steps so 208 holes lol.
Can hopefully make up the missing section of the skid steer tracks with expanding the gap in each connecting section by putting them same end to end rather than overlapping like they normally are.

Further progress on the pocketknife liners attached and buffalo horn scales roughed out ready for gluing up.
Incidentally the steel liners are made of brick strapping it's great for this, easy to work thin but resilient. You don't need exotic materials it's good to use what's at hand ..

That’s what I call a lovely weld. Back in the day I occasionally needed to weld a shaft to an industrial bakery oven fan but always found welding around a shaft difficult.

I find stick welding around a stub/pipe/pole easy, mig or tig not so much.
