Not sure, seen a guy using a hire 1.5T Kabuta to scrape top soil off a garden the other week. I'd have done it quicker by mattock.Geta digger man in for a day, he will be quicker, cheaper, make less mess and do far less damage than you.

@Onoff would you like some help for a day?
I did dig an accurate 13m trench by hand for power to my gate. 13m long, 750mm deep, and just the width of a mattock / boot. Took some doing but a sense of achievement.
A much cheaper alternative is a bigger electric jackhammer with a spade bit on it.So now the digging. I'm am not looking forward to doing this trench by hand. I've calculated it at 20×.3×.75 = 4.5m³. That's just to get the duct and power to the garage. Probably double that to do the trench the full plot width to allow for future drains etc.
I REALLY need a digger. Keep mulling these Chinese ones...

Its starting to look quite good, I think. Watering every other day when it hasnt been raining.Yes I've been using boards, not quite scaffolders length but more suited to the job.
Done, for now. Two and a third rolls left although they have suffered in places, I might wait to see how well they recover . Note the bottom left peice and the peice around tree are a bit black.

I could lay the extra rolls top down which would get about half way, or cut them long ways to get to the bottom. Dont really want to waste them.
I could ofcourse buy some, another 10 rolls should finish off that side of the path, however its a lot more digging and prep.
I'd feel stupid to buy turf having done it half and half, would have been much easier to level doing it all at once (and without the cherry!).
Yes, Humans have always spread nasty diseases and deliberately harmed others for the sake of it. If any species ever earned the title of vermin...
Not ALL of us.Ah, Americans.
Not ALL of us.![]()
A lot of us are, and I'm doing my best, as are most of my friends.Indeed, but the good ones need to stand up to be counted.
