What would you do? I had a 3mm shim about 100mm square at each end,then carver clamped to a 203 UC,should the shim be thicker?

If you're still getting 7mm bow with 3mm shims, I'd guess yeah you need more shim. Not sure if it's as simple as adding up the deflections, so 10mm shim? I mean 10mm over 4.1m isn't a huge amount for the weld to pull back.

Bit of clock repair. I altered this pendulum suspension hook by cutting a slot in it wih a junior hacksaw.
Its to fit onto the suspension spring in a movement from an old grandmother clock that i got when an old aunt died years back. Its been sitting there waiting for a bit of attention all this time.
The original pendulum had been lost so i had this one that fits the bill so a bit of a mod and the old girl might run again

Looks very similar to the one I bought in error.
Evening all.
So fairly recently a friend spotted this 110 volt Powerfeed for sale second hand on a French equivalent of Gumtree (LeBonCoin), thought of me, phoned me, advertised as from a Bridgeport, and now it's mine. Was about €100.
This photo does not show it complete, there's a fast advance button I've unplugged, to get to the business end, it's missing the cover which should protect the big gear you can see on the left hand end, I can either make or buy one, that's not the issue.
It works, does everything it should, been tested by my mate and me, nice solid cast...
