What would you do? I had a 3mm shim about 100mm square at each end,then carver clamped to a 203 UC,should the shim be thicker?You needed to do a bit of presetting on that
If you're still getting 7mm bow with 3mm shims, I'd guess yeah you need more shim. Not sure if it's as simple as adding up the deflections, so 10mm shim? Looks very similar to the one I bought in error.In a right bodge, half way through fitting a new power feed I really needed to use the mill. So a length of sawn off broom handle is holding the drive gear in place. Will probably finish it some time in the next few years...
