Great What did yours become part of? Looks like maybe a walking stick or weapon maybe??

Think I'm going to etch a protection rune on mine and mount it for wall hanging.

You could make a bigger float or go with a thinner piano wire so it's comparable to the original weight.

Or extend the wire past the pivot and add a counterweight...

I expect it will be fine for the amount you've extended it though.

I needed to make 4 small t-nuts for a mini lathe. Took the vertical head off the mill (flippin' heavy!) and set up a gang of cutters to do the t-nut shoulders in one quick pass.

Got carried away with the fun of it. Now have enough for about 20 nuts!

There are 3 colours used.
Charcoal, Buff and Old school Natural.

Old school 1000 blocks as that was what was left after doing my sons drive.
They were 60mm so needed more to match.
Found a pallet of Buff in a local depot so they fetched them to an even closer depot.
That really local depot had 800 charcoal but they were not dark charcoal so I got those cheaper
.
We used 6 ton of sand and 600 charcoal with a pallet (576) of Buff. Plus the thousand natural.....we ended up with less than 10 blocks spare...lol

Mostly, the discovery that the sand - muller project is replete with nests of vipers , and, amongst other things, requires me to make yet another aluminium casting to centralise the mixing drum on the gearbox housing. TIG bronze welding went well, but it is a work in progress, as they say.
However, it will not defy me , try though it may.....

Anybody else fall foul of the curse of knowing you have the tools and probably the materials somewhere and thus feeling obliged to use them even when it probably wasn’t the smartest idea?
At least it didn’t leak, that would have been embarrassing.

All the friggin' time! And the worst part is I'm getting older so some jobs now knacker me more than they did, especially my lower back, and I still insist on doing them!! I can only think I'll have to sell some of my kit off so I can say "nope, can't do that, haven't got the right tool" when asked in future!!

Can't beat a bit of panel building

One of mine....

That looks lovely and neat.............and then it's installed a site and someone does some fault/finding/cable tracing in a hurry during a breakdown, pulls the covers off all of the slotted trunking, pulls the cables about, jams them back in and squshes the lid back on (if you're lucky!)
