Time to quit the day job ???
The paint and fittings arrived for the painting tool box. First, 2 coars of primer and two top coats. The cheap builders merchant's ply on the front and back is really nasty but it will do.

The handle and catches arrived from Pen Elcon, they supply bits for making cabs for the music industry. Look pretty bog standard to me. I already had some cheap corner protectors but they were antiqued so painted them satin black. I wish I had painted the hinges black two, I guess I still can.

Next onto fitting out the inside I have a few ideas. I quite like the contrast between the painted outside and wood interior.

Aye I wondered about that. Easy enough to bend a bit more in i suppose.Personally I would have had more rake on the arms but ...
Nah. Booger that.but it's not a job for an old man to do outside during the wettest November in years
Hi Mick, I haven't done much of anything workshop wise for a while. Kind of lost my mojo. I think the mists are clearing and will get back to it soon. The last thing I did remotely close to signwriting was a plastic petrol can for unleaded to distinguish it from the ond with two stroke.Andy
Have you had a chance to do much signwriting yet? I’ve taken it up but am struggling to do anything decent, need to book up for a bit of tuition.
Gotcha.Cheers mate. I'll get to bending the tines. This is the angle I usually put on the ones for grabbing flag ropes for the fishermen.

Daughters boyfriend would be on the ground learning all about the wettish November in years and where all the bolts go, and how much more it hurts when you bash cold, wet knuckles into cold, wet bits of car with me . . . or he'd be paying a garage to do it for him!Another, not today, but recently I made a Hicksville transmission jack to get the auto box back into the daughter's boyfriend's Ranger.
It's all assembled and back working, but it's not a job for an old man to do outside during the wettest November in years.
Still we all like a challenge.
Don't we?
Me too, that’s why I asked, I’m trying to get motivated to get out in the workshop!

I gave up helping most people for nowt as not much ever seems to come back the other way.
But who would want it 'original' when it is very original now? First of its kind, not only original but also unique and much improved.Well if stripping off the plastics and tank only takes me 15-20 mins now and I only have to do it once then it would likely be done in less than 4hrs![]()
Brilliant.He did.
He's a descent spud and quite handy (as in useful, not he lives around the corner) and will happily give me a hand anytime I ask, or I wouldn't have considered it.
