Decided that after making the tops for the brake reservoirs because they looked plain against the parking brake lid I made, the parking brake lid now looked plain 
So popped down to the workshop this evening and milled a new one with a raised top instead of flat.
Anodised it
Then brought it home and lasered the logo and screwed up with placement so will have to strip the anodising off and anodise and etch again
I did a frame run to make sure it was placed correctly but the framing looked out so I moved it over, again it looked out so moved again and if I had left it where it was initially it would have been perfect. Not sure why the framing was off but should have believed what the camera was showing instead of the framing

I'd love to see the copper's notebook once he'd finished listing any identifiable features to look for.

Well if stripping off the plastics and tank only takes me 15-20 mins now and I only have to do it once then it would likely be done in less than 4hrs
I'm guessing you could probably disassemble/assemble that bike blindfolded by now too?

Made 2 new timing pins. Genuine VW ones are £20+ each, i have others suitable but felt the need to make my own. 6mm stainless with ball knobs.
Also modified a VW crank pulley lock. Newer 2.0 CR engines use the same tool as 1.9s, but with a shorter pulley so the tool sticks out. Cut a bit off it, finished the surface, made a new pin and fitted another ball knob.

....after seeing the price on Fiamma brackets, and the need to drill holes in the roof, to mount the awning on my van 
, I decided to get creative with some 3mm plate. First part is complete, and fits nicely. Just need to come up with some brackets to mount to the nearside roof bar next. Reminded me of another side project, I'll have to make a small brake press attachment for my 15Te press when i get time, putting a neat bend into 3mm plate without resorting to violence in the bench vice was tricky, but with the safety squints on it did the job
