Bit more done, hauler boxed in, hauler side roller bracket made and welded in place, steering box finished and control handle box finished.

Also anodised the chain fin for the bike whilst I was cutting parts for the boat on the plasma, think I will redo the acetal insert to try and get rid of the chatter at the end..

Just out of interest, how did you draw this out?

First step was to scan the original on an A4 flatbed scanner. I then made a copy, and edited both copies. On the first I removed all the circuit tracks and enhanced / cleaned up the edges, and that became the template that I print onto one sheet of acrylic, and made a copy of that and flipped it to edit (the holes are bigger on one side) and it became the template for the other sheet of acrylic. Finally the other copy I edited to remove all the "other" stuff to leave only the circuit tracks, and cleaned them up / got lines straight / replaced broken tags etc. That was all done in Inkscape to a "good enough" standard.

I'd have spent more time on getting the tracks better if I had some way of automating the cutting process. I had a word with someone on the farm who has a laser cutter, but hers won't do copper and perhaps the cut would have been wide enough that I'd have had to spread the tracks out as they're quite close along one section. I did wonder whether one of these vinyl cutters would do it as it's only 0.1mm, or at least score it enough that it's much easier to cut, but I don't have one and the job is done now. In any case I wouldn't be surprised if it blunted the cutter so if I found someone who'd try it, I'd feel obligated to buy them a new blade in that situation.

It seems that sometimes smaller jobs take longer. There was a short (40-inch) missing section of chair rail in one of the parlors of the old farmhouse we're restoring. The chair rail consists of four separate pieces of moulding. I had a couple of router bits that I used to make two of the pieces, but one of the pieces had a profile that didn't match any of my shaper knives, router bits, or antique moulding planes. So I stopped at a local industrial supply house that has an enormous selection of router bits (an entire aisle), but none of them matched the exact pattern and size, so to make that one piece of moulding, I ended up using a combination of two different router bits, a small shoulder plane, a sanding block, and my radial arm saw (to cut a groove to receive a 1/8" diameter wooden dowel). I probably spent more than four hours to make one 40-inch piece of moulding. It does, however, match the original pattern quite nicely. I haven't installed that fourth piece yet, but I'll post a photo after it's installed and I've touched up the plaster and primer.

I needed some Dado rail matching some years ago when restoring my Victorian house. Local specialist place offered a spindle moulding blade making service so I gave them a short sample to march.

they rang me back that day say they already had made a blade for that profile a year ago and oddly the customer had the same surname as myself.

Turned unbeknown to me my brother had had the same problem and had the cutter made.

Are you sure that will be strong enough nick might need to ream out those holes for a 20mm raw bolt I mean why take a chance

It looks like a silage fork but a 3CX wouldn't be great at going up a pit!

Would seriously compact it though, I have seen a wheeled digger on the pit before.

I made some temporary hand-guards to keep the freeezing damp air off my hands. My left hand especially is very painful where I damaged my fingers years ago and it was really getting to me.

I had some Kydex I got from @bigegg some time back so I made a basic former from tig wire and masking tape and heated the kydex with my infra-red heater and formed it over the mould. I turned some ally posts that would clamp through the mirror post holes on my handlebars (my bike has fairing mounted mirrors so these holes are redundant). Once the part was clamped onto these posts I used a gas torch to heat them and form the hump on top for my gloves to fit under.

It's rough and ready but it does the job perfectly.

I think it's being used more for cleaning out sheds and loading silage it's multi purpose as there's no quick attach on the machine so bit of a hassle to change so just uses it for most things

Had a chunky WP18 torch hooked up to my TIG cooler. Needed to change back to a handier WP20 for smaller/thinner work, ordinarily this results in the coolant from the 'taken off' torch going everywhere; so, bought two 'Rectus 21' couplings and made this up...

Hooking up the 'go & return' hoses straight after disconnecting them from the cooler limits the loss of the 'liquid gold' -actually it's blue, but is bloody expensive for what it is- coolant.

I would think that the limited ground clearance, heavy weight & narrow wheels would lead to it grounding out & getting stuck! Most contractors here use a big telehandler with dual wheels & a massive fork to fill the pits. They will normally clear a 16x8 trailer load in less than 5 scoops!
