Copper foiled backed torch on...very expensive.
Lost my uncle today.
This time will be really hard to get passed it.
Not made today but fitted the footpegs that I finished a few days ago.

You'll be sitting in the dust on the floor in some sandals in no time....Thanks @Edward Teach it took a good two hours to make.
It helped that I have more grinders than any sensible person should ever need but sometimes having the right tool really helps.
Now I'm not saying a grinder is the ideal tool for a job like this but it's surprising what you can make with simple tools if you put your mind to it.
You'll be sitting in the dust on the floor in some sandals in no time....
Well done!
I find it's the hyper-awareness of grinding safely that keeps my mind off other things. I find it handy to remind myself of all the times I've cocked up and nearly lost an appendage or simply sliced a finger.Funny how grinding a lump of steel can make you forget about pretty much everything else for a while.
Somebody seems quite pleased![]()
It is a very hard thing to do, price a job. Even after many years I find it hard. What I tend to do is think how long it will take and then double it, sometimes that still isn't enough but mostly it is. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose but even when you lose it is much less than you would have if you had quoted the time you initially thought. There was welding and lathe work in this build. It was a commission. Under priced it very badly. But I didn't make a loss on the materials. My time, however, was a massive fail. But I'll live and learn. View attachment 335224View attachment 335225
Basically finished the fabrication, a few extra welds to add and some tidying up, then the fun starts.
