I have the same label maker used mostly for labelling up trestle legs for dispatch... they have long part names and cba writing it all out a hundred times
The only bad thing about them IMO is the ABCDE keyboard, not QWERTY... annoys me every time I have to type out a label.

You Can get the printer bit that’s usb and connects to your computer so you can type it out if that’s quicker. That type can use much wider tape too.

Last place I used one was a few years ago so there is probably a Bluetooth and phone app version now

How many thousand of the labels do you still have? " Bespoke part " made in " England " on three lines to me would to me convey a better image of a proper engineer making specials for me ........ might allow a higher price too .

I bought 500 of them and still have most left. I originally planned on selling the wooden pens I made but ended up just giving them away.... I made 30 for stock and only have 2 left

Pretty busy day today.
Wake up went to the jobsite.
Came back because there wasn't nothing to do for me this morning.
So went to visit a friend in the woods, and welded a portable concrete mixer we got for free.
All vertical up 7018 on 3mm steel.
Then realized the worthless of my work because it's too far gone.
"Arc gouged" the motor mounting bolts using roughly 200A .
Removed the big and heavy single phase motor .
Back home .
Lunch (it's hard but someone has to do it)
Back to the jobsite , traded where to put electrical boxes etc.
Helped with masonry work .
Back to home unloaded 200kg worth of tools from the trunk of my car because shock absorber were asking pity .
Included the motor which alone is about 40kg almost heavier than me (50kg) .
Put everything in its place
From the sizes this motor can easily be an S1 3HP or even bigger motor
The plate is covered with concrete so it's hard to read .
But I think to have read 20.5A which is roughly 5HP.
Which looks weird to me because here in Italy we usually use 3 phase over single phase motor whenever they are bigger than 3HP

Conquering an old nemesis at the lathe over the last few evenings; 'live' or 'natural edge' bowls - the risk of a catch on tool, knuckles or tool rest is so great. Had several pieces of oak acquired a few years ago, lost a few through cracks and clumsiness but at least they find another purpose providing heat later that evening. People seem to really like them so as and when I sell they'll be a bit of money I didn't have before. They're still to be sanded and (probably) oiled.

That's a beast of a bandsaw!

It is, I often think it was too large for me (24" wheels), I could probably do 90-95% of what I do with a smaller one. It needs long and therefore expensive bandsaw blades. I've long thought of building the Woodgears bandsaw, the 16" model and dedicate this one to resawing only, or sell it if I don't need it, space is tight after all in my shop.

I paid 200 + shipping for it so it was a steal.

Any details/photo's on/of the engraver?

It’s an Eleksmaker 5.5 laser engraver pro, A3 size. It’s had some basic upgrades, such as a laser diode focussing ring, taller fixing legs, and sometime next week, I will get round to printing out a focussing slide/holder for the diode.

Software is T2 Laser, which seems to have sorted the software glitches the original software had. I’ve not got round to trying to cut anything yet, although folk have posted that 3mm plyboard can be cut with a number of passes.

I have also been told that it will engrave metal, with a bit of jiggery pokery, and patience. It certainly engraves leather, and you can start a good warm fire by trying to cut paper.

It’s actually engraved on a bit 3mm ply, with a bit mahogany colour furniture wax over it, and measures about 16cm x 11 cm (ish).

I would love to make welding aprons, but it’s very hard to compete commercially with the folk who are buying dozens of hides at a time. The 0.8-1mm leather hides seem to work well (so far), and the one I made is much lighter, and comfortable to wear than the heavy duty ones you see advertised. They are also easier to put a nice hem on, than 2mm suede or heavy leather.

I don't have any labels for the drawers of filing cabinets or stuff on shelves & I even know where everything is as I've had the system of placing things in set areas going for years & years ( 40 years plus )

Please don't EVER be tempted to have a re organisation Its a sure way to Insanity. I did it at the beginning of all this virus thingy and I now know where everything USED to be.
