If you are concerned, a narrow shelf above would stop the dirt falling in and give another flat surface!I've heard that air tools shouldn't be stored with the PCL (or other fittings) facing upward. Apparently it has something to do with dust getting into the inner workings of the tool, through the air line fitting, and causing problems. How true is this??
The reason I ask, is that I have been wanting to knock up something similar, but don't want my air tools ruined. At the moment, I keep them in a drawer of my toolbox.










. Then the day got even better because in order to extract said hose to have a new one made requires undoing two clamps that hold the hoses in place through the pivot. Except I think they fabricated the dumper around the clamps. Managed to get one off, luckily didn't round off the Allen head because I don't think I could get anything other than a 6mm Allen key into the hole.
