I keep the older pennies as they're copper, after 1997 (I think) they started making them from some kind of alloy.

They made them so a magnet could separate them out here before getting rid of them now they just round up to the next 5 cents.

I sprayed epoxy primer on the garden table, finished about 3pm. Sods law it is now ******* down and getting wet Its had 9 hours and appears touch dry so hoping it is set enough not to matter, I have covered it with a tarp.

Today I made a tubular mudguard frame for my trike. It came with some flimsy little plastic strips as mudguards, a token nod at being legal, but I’m fitting some proper ones, that will be painted yellow so they can be easily seen by folk who might venture close thinking I’m on a bike.

Anyway, several false starts, lots of cussing, and the freshly welded frame is ready for fettling.

I’m going to fit an ammo box behind the seat, to carry stuff in.

These little flappy things are what it came with:

Today I cut a bit of 10mm thick steel plate with the circular saw so it would fit in the van.


Got it back to the workshop and up onto the plasma with it, would never have managed to get that onto the last plasma table myself but the new one makes it relatively easy .

Cut two 80mm dia holes in it.

Then lifted a chain link into the bandsaw, it is 3" dia and 11" across, so just fitted in the bandsaw on its flat.

In two bits now ready for me to do the next step this evening.

3 pass weld on top, not the tidiest as I am out of practice with stick on steel, must be a couple of years since I have done any. Also not keen on the Bohler rods.

Also welded underneath.

Into the van, brought home and put into the garage, I am knackered
115mm flap disc for scale.

Wouldn't waste a good flap disc on steel, they only get used on Alu or Stainless

Add a perimeter bead, and you will also have a theft resistant drip pan.

I've used a 50mm toweye cemented into the concrete before.
If your got 1/2 and hour and a grinder any way is futile if they want it.
