Wouldn't waste a good flap disc on steel, they only get used on Alu or StainlessOh aye, conveniently a flap disk for scale. We can tell what type of stick welder you are.![]()

Add a perimeter bead, and you will also have a theft resistant drip pan.Finished it.
3 pass weld on top, not the tidiest as I am out of practice with stick on steel, must be a couple of years since I have done any. Also not keen on the Bohler rods.
