And a wonderful colour.
Perfect for Lady Penelope's garden.

And a wonderful colour.
That lot was done with the Frost Blackening kit.
The 3 part one.
I have yet to use the Gun Blue yet on a project.

This one ^^ ?
@£63 I think I might have gone off the idea.![]()
Could probably just get the bluing solution, solution 1 describes itself as alkaline de greaser and 3 as de watering oil so 1 & 3 not so difficult to substitute. I haven't got a clue where to get Copper Selenate for solution 2 I will have a think on that one. That's the kit. I didn't pay that much.
But the good thing is.
That once you done each stage, you decant it back in to the bottles ready to be used again.
I am sure you must have said before but can you remind me what you use to Chemically blacken old tools please?
Nice, never really given it much thought but what creates the cross?
Plain flour mixed with water or some people use icing sugar afterNice, never really given it much thought but what creates the cross?
Is treacle the new concrete?![]()

The big post is in.
Haven't been on the 'puter for a few days, but over the past couple of days I made this:
It's a rotary broach (when I took the photo I hadn't sharpened the 3 mm, 5 mm or 6 mm hex bit; the 4 mm hex bit is fitted into the holder in the photo).
Close-up of the test hole - it looks like the sides are curved; they're not: it's just because I went a bit overboard on the chamfer before broaching:
Somewhat less technical than @Hood 's work above but kept seeing this image today.
