In trying to fix wifes beetle passenger door that will not open I snapped the end off one of my favorite ancient RS long thin flatblade screwdrivers

I then made the right tool out of a brazing rod to get through the cable aperture which worked, to find that the mech is toast and will not release the door

Clearing up I then stood on a 45 deg pick lying at just the right spot to go straight through my trainer and into my foot a fair way

Happy days grrr

A new glass top for an outside table. Glass supplier cut it to the wrong dimensions, it used to be an insert but now it is a full size top. I had to make some clips on spacer blocks to fit it and I put M5 inserts in the spacers for fitting from underneath.

Retribution, sat on the spot, on the PC (no pud pulling honest ) ordered things from amazon for me, not a tetanus jab tho

As far as I know J, I had one at school, so about 10 years 45 years ago, I've no idea what up to date is for tetanus tbh

Not quite that long. Five year, or some such malarkey, I believe. Been donkeys since I last had one though, so you're not alone on that front.

Took the Grand Cherokee for it MOT on Wednesday, I expected it to fail as there was a clunk from the front suspension I hadn't had chance to look at and I wasn't disappointed



Managed to track down a new pair of arms in ECP @ Avonmouth so trip over Thursday morning to collect then home to fit them

While I was in there I stripped the front shocks and fitted new bump stops



All done, took it back for a retest on Friday morning only to find the MOT tester is on holiday till next Wednesday

Had an email from my GP last week inviting me in for a Tetanus, Diptheria and Polio booster, apparently over 65’s are more vulnerable.

Last time I was supposed to have one the nurse asked have you had tetanus jab before? I said yes a few times and she said if you've had three you're considered covered for life now.

I know someone who had tetanus and very nearly died. Came from a cut in the garden. She was on artificial everything, heart, lungs, you name it, everything locks up. Mercifully she recovered and went on to live for many more years.

It was worse, because her husband knew the symptoms and begged them not to give her a tetanus shot, but they did, and since she already had it, it just made it worse!

Friend of mine was an intensive care nurse, they got a lady in who had recently emigrated from India
It was a while back and she had no jabs, they diagnosed tetanus, they could stabilise nothing, massive fever, explosive diarrhea the lot.
Dead in 8 hours

The retaining weld holding the l/h stub axle plate to the main axle had tore out.
