Looks feckin' awesome Pete! Honestly a shame to paint it
Honestly not too bad! , the engines are far from standard and don't exactly light up.the tyres,
But keep the revs up with good handling and set up is where the skill is.
and some good luck as well
I hope someone knows where all these doodads go
started making a header tank as I couldn't find anything suitable just need to welderup
And some skimmige
it is true what they say , the last 10% of the Job is 90 % of it.
like any job rounding the last pieces up take the most time
Some pics just before I stripped it for paint.
won't be long now
Great build and love the work.
Don’t think my OCD would allow me to build something so asymmetrical though.
I have exactly the same problem
But it comes down to function over Form , And I'm my worst critic but this is gonna be as cool as penguins urine
You beat me to it!
Looking forward to seeing at NIR
I am glad you guys cleared this up as was starting to think I may have drunk a little too much this evening.
The chassis does look well engineered to take a bit of abuse!
Wonder what one would do autograss style?
Hopefully the last time in this orientation
You wouldn't believe me if I told you how long it took to get this far...oh well if it ain't right it's wrong.
Be a damm shame to paint that!
That is absolutely beautiful work, Woody.
Do you design the chassis however you want it or is that set out by the rulebook?
What kind of tube bender and notcher are you using? It must take some fantastic skill to accurately measure, bend and notch all that tube to such a perfect fit.
The chassis has evolved over a few years to what it is now as you find weakness in the design and change it to suit,
we have a rule book to follow but it only gives you Min and max tolerances (wheel base etc) the rest is free.
I use a hydraulic bow and arrow type bender with adapted formers to stop the tube lifting from the former and a holesaw type notcher ,
A quick flick with a flap wheel gets the notch spot on, you get used to it after a while.
Well that was an absolute Pita as usual, You need to be a cross between speedy Gonzalez and a ambidextrous spider monkey.
Stunning work! Out of interest, how much does it weigh without engine etc, just the chassis?
Around 200 kg as an educated guess
HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE , This part , THIS will be the last one I paint I reckon, life's too short .
When is the date again for brayfield @Woody.v8
