It's too bad, it's a bit too much work to back and re-upload everything manually.
Anyway I got a metaphorical face punch last night, things were going too well. The AC hoses and compressor head have a mismatch. Compressor has flare style fittings (thought all Saab AC stuff used the same o-ring fitting so I never thought to check). So I cannot get my AC system back together.
A small comfort was I found an FL style head (I got a B-style head, most 900s have a Q head, but I bought hoses for an FL style head, thinking it's what I had) and bought it. Still expensive and I will now have to remove the compressor again and remove the head and likely order a seal kit for it.
I'm gonna have to put the car together again but without the AC system in place. Might as well remove the condenser again too.
The compressor head got removed, reed plate came off with it. At least things are looking good? No carbon deposits, no metal flakes, everything looking clean. Only gasket residue.
To me this indicates the compressor is in good shape at least. As long as I get the old residue off without scratching anything. I suspect this is the work for some real good gasket remover.
