I saw your pics of it there, It feels quite low and far back there to me, how do you find using it in that posistion?mines on the side at the back just below the cast base
noty a problem at all and convenient for the wiring .just looked thats where the switch is mounted on an original one http://www.lathes.co.uk/rapidor/I saw your pics of it there, It feels quite low and far back there to me, how do you find using it in that posistion?
With the micro switch I want it live on the NC if I have it correct in my head.
I dont think they had one TBHnoty a problem at all and convenient for the wiring .just looked thats where the switch is mounted on an original one http://www.lathes.co.uk/rapidor/
well yours and mine didnt but some have even the enclosed moderner ones have and the stop staty buttons are in the side of the caseI dont think they had one TBH View attachment 330305
It is the easiest place for them. That or the front leg. I may use the front leg as it will be easier to access in the space I plan to have the saw.well yours and mine didnt but some have even the enclosed moderner ones have and the stop staty buttons are in the side of the case
Great that helps I'll take a closer look for those holes. These ones marked in blue I presumeView attachment 330349
A rod goes through those holes, with a grub screw or bolt locking it in position from above. Then just a block/arm to slide along the rod.
Did it come with a suds system? I wish I had it set up. Would have saved a lot of blades.Ah dam the sump for the suds has rust holes and it leaks looking inside it is well pitted and not worth patching. So I will either make a new one or steal something half suitable out of the kitchen cupboard and make it work, SHSSHHHHH dont tell the wife ;-)
It did indeed. Simple little pump driven off of the motor via a small belt. I will make a new tank and hopefully it will be all good again. I'll grab a pic later of the pumpDid it come with a suds system? I wish I had it set up. Would have saved a lot of blades.
I've bought a 99p small bike pump from Home Bargains (no expense spared) to see if I can get the lobe driven pump to work, before commiting to making something proper. It did indeed. Oh I will not be painting mine either now then thanks for the heads up. Oh so you have a pump on your saw also. I may make a wooden shelf to sit on the bars between the legs like they had originally. Give me something to sit the tank on too.I've bought a 99p small bike pump from Home Bargains (no expense spared) to see if I can get the lobe driven pump to work, before commiting to making something proper.
BTW I heard on Facebook or Qanon, that painting them reduces efficiency.....so I'm not taking any chances.
No pump..... it's just a theory I have, an unsubstanciated one. Perhaps someone knows for sure?Oh I will not be painting mine either now then thanks for the heads up. Oh I know the hole you mean. I over filled the damperand it dribble through that hole.No pump..... it's just a theory I have, an unsubstanciated one. Perhaps someone knows for sure?
The threaded hole is below the lobe. It isn't a drain hole. Although it might be easier to fit a pump off the drive belt. But would need to modify the guard.
I have about 6 new suds flexi-pipes still to use. One is destined for the Colchester Student. Ironically the little Myford ML7 has suds fitted (by me). Another to replace a damaged one on the Senior Mill.
Can't beat suds as opposed to dribbling cutting oil, which is gummy stuff and expensive if you use a lot. I make do with a hand spray, but it's far from ideal.
