Bit of a coincidence oil prices going up after the instruction of “ drill baby, drill”
When I took mine the cost was £13 for the test and 80 pence worth of petrol to get to kings lynn and back on my kawasaki z200.Annoyingly I didn't bother to to a bike test when it was dead easy back in the 70s, though then you could ride up to 250 on L plates indefinitely, which was fine for what I wanted, so didn't bother.
Regret it now, as I'd like to have a bike these days but I'm certainly not doing all the jumping thru hoops nonsense that they want now, even for a 125 on L plates.
Similar for me in the 70's and once passed you could ride unlimited capacity1962 for me, no indicators so arm out for left and right and an emergency stop when he steps out in front of you.
I don't know how true it was but there was a story going around at the time, of an examiner stepping out infront of the wrong bike and getting knocked over.1962 for me, no indicators so arm out for left and right and an emergency stop when he steps out in front of you.

That happened in Gloucester, ended up with a broken leg, that why they went to using radios. It might just be an urban myth, but I don’t think so.I don't know how true it was but there was a story going around at the time, of an examiner stepping out infront of the wrong bike and getting knocked over.
When I did my mine in the 80's - examiner had "high viz" jacket on.
Everybody wears high viz stuff now - it is like urban camouflage. But it was not the norm in the 80's - even the police did not wear it then.
As I understand it there's a lot more petrol in the storage tanks in Europe than diesel.I can never understand why diesel is more than petrol. Isn't diesel a by product of refining oil into petrol?
Apparently it's 'urine from the last leper in hell' and therefore can only be sold at a punitive price.I can never understand why diesel is more than petrol. Isn't diesel a by product of refining oil into petrol?

Same over here as well.I can never understand why diesel is more than petrol. Isn't diesel a by product of refining oil into petrol?
Depends on where you are "Drilling".....Bit of a coincidence oil prices going up after the instruction of “ drill baby, drill”

How much is it you're end then?Same over here as well.
It wasn't this way years ago, I wonder if the switch to ultra low sulfur made it costlier to produce ?
I have always understood that uk refineries are optimised to produce petrol whereas those in europe are the reverse. Also I think you get more gallons of petrol than diesel per barrel of crude, but someone will be along with the numbers.I can never understand why diesel is more than petrol.
