The idea is the same as a topping plant.I think they said its a third of the total reserve and it's 4 days worth of oil. So it's basically a drop in the ocean and they have 8 days worth left. It's hard to see it having any effect at all tbh.
Haha, so the governments are essentially cashing in on the situation too and making some money! The idea is the same as a topping plant.
surge the market to bring down prices.
IIRC they are not "giving it to the market for free" so it will be sold
at the high rate, and if the price comes down, refilling would come at a cheaper
rate.
Isn't that what is called "shorting" a position ?Haha, so the governments are essentially cashing in on the situation too and making some money!

That's probably the normal price round there. The folk using that station aren't the sort who will look at the cost before they pull the lever on the pump. In fact the folk using that station are probably filling the car for the person the chauffeur around! From the Evening Standard - One filling station in London is selling petrol for 238p-a-litre as prices at the pumps climb steeply amid the war in the Middle East. The Standard went to a Gulf petrol station on Sloane Avenue in Chelsea on Tuesday where prices hit 238.7p a litre for unleaded petrol and 264.9p for a litre of diesel.![]()
Fair point but I bet that's still a big jump at that place! That's probably the normal price round there. Suspect you are right but I seem to recall that station being the sort of price youd expect to see on a motorway or more in normal times!Fair point but I bet that's still a big jump at that place!
Yes but was it enough to get you home from the garage!I don't believe in all this fuel prices increasing rubbish that you see in the media.
Last night I put £20 of petrol in my car at my local garage I do this every Thursday.
And guess what? it cost £20 exactly the same as the week before.
I used to run the landy on it when it was 70ppl. It was another war that caused that to shoot up. Its also another thing we could produce in the UK but dont!Veg oil at Morrisons £1.20 a litre![]()
He filled up at pump No.4 and it got him to pump No.3Yes but was it enough to get you home from the garage!

Too many solar farms and housing estates...I used to run the landy on it when it was 70ppl. It was another war that caused that to shoot up. Its also another thing we could produce in the UK but dont!
