It's the old age thing if it seems too good to be true it probably is.to be honest laptops arnt my thing and they cant provide the true power that i would be needing
so for me I cant give you any worthwhile input on what is your desire of speck of a machine that your wanting
but for me those prices seem like your paying through a con when the machine is 1-2 years old before you start to use it at brand new prices
sorry its how i rate laptops as there released in usa before they are released here in the uk the model is based on a 1-2 year old machine
One thing I wll say is that 15.6" display are relatively easy to replace, from my experience, having done a couple. However the screen has it's own firmware which needs matching. Oddball sizes are trickier. Probably on my 10th + laptop over many years. Had Dell, HP, Acer, Packard, Toshiba, IBM but the build quality of Lenovo is a winner for me. I just whizz the Win drive out and put my Linux SSD in and go from there. It's so damn confusing when you have prices like this.View attachment 407739
Adding a larger hard drive and some more ram would cost a darn sight less that 750 quid that the difference is.
JUst a heads up for any one buying winto USB from hasleo . It only runs on two computers and if you get a new computer its not transferable.I just remembered I paid for winto USB a while back. I will try that.
Someone in the forum posted they had one from a decent seller on ebay but when I looked he had none listed.laptop i bought was 150 2nd hand
its worth it but been looking for months and i know what im looking for there aree so meny people selling laptops for stupid money i5 2nd 3 and 4th gen units (and others) with win 11 on it so thats not original as i think they need to be 8th gen or higher and haver some thing in the bois to accept win 11 there are work arounds but its not right
Have you have to install win 7 from scratch recently?I'v got a few machines sitting around running happily 24/7 in win7 I prefer win7 to win10 tbh

They replied he was on holiday and he would list more when he back.
But I can't remember who he was or even the poster of that message.![]()
If someone I knew had this I would buy it. Just not keen on spending that much money on something I don't know the history of.Dell Inspirons and Latitudes are the workhorses of the IT industry.
Not particularly sexy but they get the job done, are very reliable and there will be drivers and spares available for years.
The next step up is the Dell XPS but they are serious money, even second hand.
Yeah I have purchased a fair number of batteries in the past. The XPS seller sounds like a bit of a insert-four-letter-word-here... Also, if you don't need a touchscreen then probably not worth paying more for the XPS.
As for the Asus, batteries in laptops often need changing after 3-5 years so I wouldn't let this put you off as long as you planned to run it permanently off the mains, or were comfortable changing the battery (and assuming it's priced to suit!)
