They are very nice, are you going to machine new knobs for the dash switches to match?

Chromed plastic just isn't you.......
The existing knobs are plated die cast bud
'A picture paints a thousand words' and can lead you up the garden path! I looked closely at the photos and they look to have sprue marks and thought plastic but that would also be true of die cast if plated on the sprue.

okay, here goes....is there any kind of different prep for sending items out for chrome than there is to paint them yourself?....how "perfect" do they have to be?

Yeah I used to hate prepping parts for plating. They have to be perfect as plating enhances marks instead of covering up blemishes like paint does.
