Doesn't it only apply to diesels fitted with a Dpf
Yes it does

no it isnt they know it has failed even though u have a current test cert a month before it runs out . its not roadworthy. them days are long gone now there using computers and linked to the police and dvlaI've always took my vehicles a month early before the current mot expires,.....so if they now find a fault that falls in the 'Dangerous' category, can they legally seize it/stop you driving it home? Even if I could afford to pay a garage to repair a vehicle, what about these places that just do mot's?
I see that a 'Major' fault states "repair it immediately",....so is it OK to drive it away then??
i suppose a MOT test that fails a car will supersede whatevers left of the previous one?
true thats how its supposed to work but most people have never taken any notice, so many people ive heard say "its failed but ive still got a month to fix i before the old one runs out".As far as I’m aware, hat has been the case anyway, if it passes it passes, if it fails, that’s it, the old mot no longer holds and you have an unroadworthy vehicle.![]()

if the mot is now linked electronically to dvla then it stands to reason the cameras they have installed all over the place to catch intaxed and uninsured will catch them on the road on the way back and atomated fines or whatever will follow
as far as i know it hasnt happened yet with MOTs unless old bill pull you?
yeah Ive had a few friends that have been driving with expired MOT and didn't know about it.......they had been driving past average speed cameras on the motorway and nothing ever came of it.
Don't know if this will help clarify any further.

@doubleboost I got mine through today as well with no advisories cat refited and egr refitted before test not bad for 206000 miles![]()
The test as it was had settled down and was running nice and reliably
It is only natural that we should change the structure of the test
To fall in with the E U Guide lines
Now a class 4 had become a M1
Mill lights and head light washers will scrap many older vehicles
The garage can not stop you driving your car away with a dangerous fail we can only advise against it
All 3 tests today were passes
I expect it depends where the ship is registered.I woder how the changes to the shipping industry is coming along that was talked about in respect emissions. Wonder how that will be policed.
