should be a chassis earth to engine as well as battery one
Where do you think I took my inspiration from...lol.
Power steering is electric column...2nd vote for engine to chassis earth,cr*p quality braided copper.
edit-on re-reading you say power steering stiff? has it lost its auxilliary drive belt as this also runs the alternator?
You've probably seen this BB but if not it may help.
Do you think we could strip some parts out of my R-tech welder to get it fixed?i am going to have one more attempt in the morning, if i cant fix it before i get annoyed with it then its dead to me. we buy any car are a joke, id rather watch it melt into the ground, last time i had them value a car they wanted me to pay them 59
quid to take it away even though it was taxed, mot'd and fully
Advertising the benzene and swan-vista route on a public forum may raise suspicionsI'm not condoning this but a scenario would be to drive it to a secluded lay by then set light to it. Next day report it as stolen. Then claim the insurance.
Down side is the excess and the claim on your insurance record
And the fraud if caught.
Next time don't get a French car.
Got it started and kicked it home with my father following as I have no lights, indicators have a mind of their own, no tach or speedo etc, every wanting light flashing and it jerked and lurched all the way, no brakes (pedal is solid as if car is off), no power steering...and now it's home it won't even think about starting and cheap diagnostics says no stored faults
I've just been speaking to an insurance friend of mine. All flooded cars are cat b write offs due to the electrics being water ingressed. So just have to find a flood and claim. Can't imagine where any floods are though
