Lathe delivery costs?

I don't where to post this, so thought I'd try here.

I'm looking to get a Harrison M300 lathe to replace our Myford 7. It weighs a little less than 600kg and less than 5' long (I've lost the actual dimensions at the moment). Any ideas what I'm likely to pay per mile? Also, it won't be on a pallet so will need that before removing from the building and loading, and it'll need placing into our garage here. Easy access both ends and mostly motorway miles.

Anyone any experience of this/ any thoughts? I've searched online but can't find anything helpful.

I presume delivery point will be Cardiff-ish, collection location would be helpful......Scotland/Cornwall/ Humber area?????.....................

Plus:- "it won't be on a pallet so will need that before removing from the building and loading, it'll need placing into our garage here", explanation, please???......

Pictures of collection area and delivery area would be also helpful.

No clue but it feels like it will be massively expensive given you’re going to need someone who knows enough about the lathe (and cares enough!) that they can prepare it and either get it into a pallet or lift it safely into a van.
It may genuinely be cheaper to do the first half of it yourself (travel to wherever and get it palletised) or even hire a tail lift and pallet shifter and do the whole thing yourself.

I was going by this:
'An M300 weighs about 583 Kg (1288 lbs) in short-bed form and 685 Kg (1512 lbs) as a long-bed model.'

Contact @doubleboost he had his harrison delivered by a guy with a lift.

They have a lifting eye thread (M16 I recall), so can be moved and lifted with an engine crane.

This also depends on how hard it is to get out of the building.

I once read an account of a guy getting a harrison size lathe out of a school workshop which was on the first floor of the school down some stairs with chain blocks and rollers.....

I got a milling machine, not on a pallet, moved from Southampton to Inverness. First stage was a local machinery mover, to roll it out of the garage and pick up with a little hiab. Then onto a pallet at their yard, total cost £240. Once on a pallet, it’s easy - £120 from there to Inverness. @fizzy owns the company who did that for me.

Or if you have something to tow it buy a trailer then sell on after, we are lucky we have a good local trailer rental place

I had a very helpful guy do some mini digger work at my place. As I knew he had a plant trailer, I called him when I needed to collect a milling machine and Harrison m300 lathe. Cost me a standard day's labour and having a second pair of hands was invaluable. We used his vehicle and trailer. Two trips due to the combined size and weight.

If the chosen machine is not too far off the M4 I could possibly help. Down to Port Talbot tomorrow with an empty trailer and back down that way again between Christmas and new year.

I'm not sure how it can be easy access both ends and mostly motorway miles if you don't know where it is coming from...

Best option is either to go and pick it up yourself with a trailer (best option) or a van (more difficult to load), providing you have the ability to load and offload it - or contact one of the specialist machinery movers for a quote if you don't.
I'd be very wary of getting it loaded on to a pallet unless you are very certain the person loading it on knows what they are doing and how to properly secure it for transport as the potential for disaster is considerable.

I would contact @fizzy first, as he is one of our members here. And would also recommend Landy Lift, who moved a mill for me from Lincoln to just north of Cardiff for a reasonable price. The collection and delivery went smoothly.
