DOT 5 silicone fluid is totally non hygroscopic but they are more compressible than glycol based fluid and will give a more elastic pedal feel.

Everyone, thanks for all your input on the brake fluid discussion, I think I'll keep it to standard. You all make valid points.
Got the new clutch master this week so put it on this evening. All bolted down right now as you can see
I'm going to wait to get the brake servo. Had a bit of trouble working out which I need but I think I have it so I'll order that. Once that's on I'll spend an evening finishing the lines. Need to drill some holes in the bulkhead so rather not rush it now trying to bleed the clutch. Close now to getting them sorted

Have you got the spring assisted clutch pedal?, I fitted one to my 90 and it made stop/start traffic easier on the leg

I always fit the over centre clutch pedal on any landrover if it doesn't have one, makes quite a difference, even on my lightweight. I have a spare one I bought for my parents 56 plate 90 CSW, but by that time landrover had started fitting them sporadically to td5's again.

No it is an over centre Spring, you need the correct clutch pedal for it to fit - it needs to have a u shaped cut out on the forward part of the pedal.
Although it is cheaper to just buy a complete pedal setup as the springs and bushes cost £25 or so!

Just went to make the clutch line and instantly noticed the pipe I have is the wrong size for unions and probably wont work with my flaring tool either. It's so frustrating. can't use the old pip as I welded the bracket on in a slightly different place so the pipe doesn't sit right. Can I change the pipe size and try find some unions to fit ? or buy new flaring tool and get the right pipe ?

I would try find a hose and hydraulics type place, they should be able to make you up one probably cheaper than the alternative options.

No need to buy any special tools, if needed you can post it and I'll happily flare it for you. I'll probably need fittings though, but if you can't use a smaller pipe which you can do there is a backup.

Wait I can use smaller ? will it effect the clutch by doing so ?

Got the new unions for the clutch yesterday, I wanted to make the lines today but suffering with really bad lady flu. Should get my brake servo tomorrow hopefully too, I have the brake master now though. I'll get all that sorted during the week.

I didn't sleep to well last night so went outside at 0600 and got working
Had my eyes on finishing another thing and I can now say the clutch is done. Just need my boyfriend to check it as it seems a bit spongy and he can compare it to his td5, when he gets up
I'll ask him to press it.
Before I started with the clutch I decided to check the heater will fit because the clutch mount I put in a slightly different place. Thankfully the heater fits fine and I don't have to modify it
No I won't be fitting it like this
I need to work out what I'm going to do with it still ? Any ideas?
anyway after that I managed to see where I need the pipes to go, along with the photos my friend sent me. Got making the pipe. Had to fit a another pipe clip as well so carefully drilled that thankfully only had to drill one hole
Then spent about half hour bending it up and getting it nice and straight.
All bent now other then the final one into the master. Little tip for someone I thought of was to get it all squared up where you want it to sit, then as you see. Take a drill bit. Put it in the hole and mark where it sits against the pipe. Then eye it up and lay it down the pipe, put the pipe cutter at the end and cut it.
Then put the union on and form it don't forget the union like I normally do 
I used a 16mm spanner then and very carefully bent it round, did that by bending slowly then moving ever so slightly and bending again a small bit, obviously repeated that so I had a nice bend. Tightened it all up finally and checked the master cylinder was tight.
Then bled it.
I'll get some more on later hopefully. I'll have the servo and other parts to start on the brakes later but I'm going to run out of pipe I'll get that ordered now too.
