Not a clue how old it is but as the DeVILBISS seems to be fine I will just use that.

Well I had another rake about in the old shed and I found another part to the DeVILBISS filter, an add on section with a 0.01µm filter in it. The filter looks unused but the foam outer was crumbling away so I have removed that just leaving the mesh and paper element. Got that fitted to the compressor and now I am just waiting on a couple of 1/2" BSP to push fit fittings to arrive and hopefully I will be all set.

Got the air dryer connected up today and all seems to be fine also have the 80-90Amp nozzles so hopefully that is the end to the rapid destruction of them
Friday I will hopefully have some 10mm Aluminium to cut parts out of which will be a good test for it but I did do a quick test with some 8mm 5083 today and the cut was very nice, it was just a small test though so ...

I never expected JASIC cutters to be so nice.
As i'm looking to upgrade my single phase 40A chineesium with a 3 phase i might consider a JAsic now.....

So far I am very happy with it but not done a huge amount of cutting yet. If I had got it up and running the few weeks previous I would have cut a fair amount but I had to do that with the TecArc.
I should be doing some 10mm Aluminium in the next few days, maybe next week, so I will see how it performs with that.

I have done small bits and pieces with it in the last week, yesterday I cut some small bits of 3mm stainless up and it was nice and the good thing is the nozzles seem to be lasting better or at least so far they have. Whether that is because I am now using the 80-90 amp ones instead of the 40-70 I got with it or it could be the air dryer or even a combination of both.

Yes, well the CNC connections (Start/Stop, Arc Ready and divided voltage) are. I specified I wanted a CNC torch, I think normally it is supplied with a hand torch.

Can i ask how much the complete kit has cost ?

I was around about £1200 + VAT with extra consumables and the machine torch instead of the hand torch.

Nice, way cheaper than a Hypertherm which is half the price in the US.....

So that makes it around 1600€ VAT included , i need to check the shipping to France

Took a quick vid of the Jasic cutting some 3mm 316. Cuttig a bit too slow as I had programmed it for 5mm then found I only had 3mm left

Also forgot to switch on the extractor and by the time I did the smoke was in the air so never really cleared.

I finished off my other work so I was able to cut the 10mm 5083 Aluminium just before I came home.
To say I am delighted with the performance and quality of the cuts is an understatement, they are simply the best I have ever had with a plasma. This may in part be due to me now having the refrigerant air dryer but I suspect the plasma itself has a lot to do with it.
Piercing was quite a bit quicker than the 1 second I had allowed and I think I could have increased the cut speed from 1200mm/min to maybe 1500mm/min without issues.

That looks good. I haven’t tried anything thicker than 3mm aluminium.

I have done 20mm Alu in the past but piercing on the TecArc was 16mm max so it had to be an edge start, the Jasic is capable of 20mm pierce.

That’s quite a solid gantry you’ve got there isn’t it

4" x 4" x 1/4" wall 6082 with about a 3m span.

In theory drier air would make more of a difference on the aluminium but I think that must be a smoother arc from the new machine.

I would love to shove the Trafimet torch on to see how it would perform on the Jasic but warranty is stopping me even though it works in exactly the same manner ie a blowback ignition.
