LOL OK, think some have filters on both sides from what I have gleaned from other makers sites.

The filter I have is meant for breathing quality air but not sure if there is meant to be a filter inside or if it is just the it at the top that is the filter. Will take a pic when I get back to the workshop in a bit, just away down to a boat to fit some of the gear I have made this week.

The reason it is on a stand is to make it higher because my knees are knackered, putting drawers in it would have served no purpose because they would never get used as I dislike the pain bending my knees when not required

Good news regards the hand torch, it works no problem with the Jasic so now I have a 12m hand torch that will likely never be used but is there if I ever do need it



Here are the filters I have, anyone know if any of them would be suitable? Bearing in mind the only info in the manual says a 10µm or greater filter is required.

The inside of the base, should there be an element or is this what they are like?

The inside of the top after the lower has been removed, as can be seen there is a sintered brass filter of some sort.

The writing on the base, no mention of the µm size but it does say "filtration to breathing air quality" whatever that means.

I also have this one which has the oiler section which I don not need but maybe I could bypass that or even just give it a very good clean out. Internally it is fairly similar to the one above.

I have not found any info on the DeVILBISS so far, looks like they have newer stuff.
The Norgren however seems to be 40µm filtering, so not any use.

Meant to ask, do you just leave your dryer on all the time as the manual seems to suggest you have to start unloaded and it takes quite a while to start, 3 minutes or so I think it said.

It is just a paper manual and weirdly stapled at the top of a dual page setup. I should be able to haul out the staples and test out the new Xerox printer to see how the duplex scanning goes. Back in a bit, well if it works

Looks like I need to read the Xerox manual to see how I can scan all pages into one pdf, might take a while

Ok try this, as I said the manual is weird in that 2 pages are on one side of the paper and the other side is the next two. It is laid out so as to be stapled at the top so the pages show the correct way up but in the pdf they will not be .
I will try and see if I can edit the pdf at a later stage to have it more conventionally set up but for the moment this will have to do.

Looks like I can get a 5µm filter cheap enough, here is one on RS so other places will likely be cheaper.

Again my two cents worth.
I have a 5micron filter at the inlet to the dryer, this is to protect the dryer from 'stuff' coming out of the air receiver so no muck is passed through the dryer. I also have a filter 'toilet roll type' just at the plasma to pick up any other stuff before the inlet to the plasma. The toilet roll filter has never had any moisture in it, as you would expect and has always been clean, also as you would expect. Now the inlet filter to the dryer can handle full flow from the compressor, which is about 76cfm and is also a water trap, do get some moisture in it from time to time and have to drain it. The dryer has a auto drain system on it so it looks after itself, so far never had a moisture or contaminant problem. I can take a photo of what I have if you wish, but it is just an alli housing with a white pleated filter media inside.

Found info on the DeVILBISS filter/regulator I have, it has a 5µm filtration so more than adequate for the job
