Some mum you have mate ;0 Be wary though many drivers will drop kerbside only...I welded them up when I got in and they feel very solid and heavy but I have cocked up slightly, I welded the upright bit 90* to the top so when it's against the step there's a small gap at the top.
I only made 2 ramps but yes, that's exactly what I was thinking.
It will hopefully arrive tomorrow or Friday but I'll probably be at school so it will be up to my mum and the driver to get it in.

It all depends on the driver on the day. You get some who are amazing - some ok and some sadly who don't give a damn. With 120 depots around the country you good and bad. All pallet networks are the same.
Technically it is kerbside only but if they aren't rushed for time and access isn't too bad then you never know.
True funny story of the week - maybe of the year. This actually happened at one of our depots.
A new driver - Polish - English not too good. Luckily last drop of the day on a Saturday so should have finished about 12. Finally got back to the depot at 5pm - covered in dirt - filthy dirty. He had been delivering 2 pallets of turf. Yes you guessed it - poor bloke thought he was supposed to lay it as well..........................
We all had a good chuckle over that - you dont get many in this industry!

From the delivery/ collection drivers I meet, they're all always rushed for time and mostly short-tempered
I even had one grumble about how long it was taking one of our guys to fork something off his wagon. I pointed out he wasn't doing too badly for an electronics engineering graduate who'd only taken his FLT test the day before - all of our staff did it so that whoever was on the premises could load/ unload if necessary. None of us are career FLT drivers!

Still hadn't came today so we phoned Speedshift and they said "if it was collected Wednesday then it will be delivered Thursday/Friday." so we phoned the seller and he said it was only collected 5 O'clock Thursday evening, Despite the fact that we arranged collection for Wednesday

The good news is we can get an electrician to sort out some better power than this:

The feed comes in from the house through the grey cable into the bottom of that switch/box thing and that trailing socket is the only power I have out there(the plugs in it are for the lights and a outside PIR light).
Does anyone know what the box thing is - I can take a better picture if that would help? I was a bit worried but I did run my welder through it with no burning cables
(my bench did catch fire however).

its a switchfuse and that looks like a bit of 2.5mm grey cable feeding it .max rating 20 amp

measure the cable if it is 2.5 mm as i said 20 amp max fuse if its back at source . it may be tapped off the ringmain indoors ??u will have to investigate or up rate the cable if u require more power .as it is u could change the switchfuse to a 2way consumer unit 1 -16 amp fuse for sockets and 1 6amp fuse for lights

i couldnt tell uSo is there a way to measure it without turning it off or getting electrocuted
i just look and i can tell the size , just be carefull if u dont know and dont do anything if its turned on or your not sure

On the cheapest service there is a 2 day window for collection although in 95% of cases they do collect on day one. All depends on workload - obviously getting busier now for Christmas. Also seeing a milling machine on the system they will want to get the best tail lift vehicle they have which can cause delays.
Delivery should be Friday/Monday but the depot in your area will call you first to arrange. It is a non guaranteed service remember. There is a next day which is guaranteed but not advised for complex jobs.
OH one bit of advice. Not just for us but ANY delivery company. When you sign for it CHECK IT FIRST!!! If there is damage and you don't state that on the proof of delivery then no claim can be made!!! If there is shipping damage you MUST write DAMAGED on it. Writing unchecked will not work.
