Spacers mean less rigidity and the toolpost is clearly miles too small for the lathe.Small spacer block will fix that, I have a 20mm peice under mine for the same purpose, when I have the compound removed. If all your tools fit the holders then its good.
@grim_d i thought you had an A size?

Should of got an E size.
Yeah I was on the fence over getting the E, but looking at the measurements it appeared the A was the right size.I do, I put a spacer underneath it to bring it up.
I also shim my small boring bars to get the height. I don't have the sleeve things.
I did say you should get an E if you can.
However, it's only a small lathe Brad, the A size is perfectly adequate for it. Your boring bar pictures will deflect way before the toolpost does.

I’ll have to make a spacer in the meantime and use this till I can sell it.
E is working out a fair chunk more cash too.
I’ve tried shimming it, all different amounts, still got tools I can’t use there just isn’t enough adjustment, I shim it any more and I run out of adjustment the other way.The A is absolutely fine, stop agonising over it and just get making chips.
