When I was living in Sheffield I always shopped at a greengrocer, some things were cheaper and some were more expensive so it evened out, but it was much more sustainable (No packaging and locally sourced where possible), there was much more variety and much better quality.

At the moment we shop at Tesco, which in my opinion has the worst quality produce of any supermarket, but unfortunately is in by far the best location for us. There's a market here too but it's way more expensive, and even more inconvenient than the other supermarkets.

I'm moving to Bucks in the next couple of months, hopefully wherever I end up has a decent town.

I go to MK market for green grocer when I can. Always cheap and plentiful

I lived in Aylesbury for 35 years..... I never intend to go back

I have a similar problem but mine is not all to do with price.
I was taught to never leave food. So it becomes a habit. So I am eating more than I should. But in addition to that and the fact my portions are way too big I have never felt full.
I don't know what it means to feel full.

Trying to buy less so I don't cook too much is more expensive than buying in bulk.

I understand the gas price. Why the electricity rise? What if I have my electricity supply disconnected. Is the energy supplier going to charge me more for using only gas?

Friend of mine - his energy supplier company offers a discount for customers taking all their energy from them . . . he pointed out he did indeed take all his energy needs from them - all electric as he has no gas connection. They declined to offer him the entire energy needs discount . . .
