Does anyone prefer euro-style handles?

It's an interesting thread there on your cooler shox. I can see it was some years ago you made that but did you ever get it going with another pump or did the kemmpi take its place before you got it sorted.

Sort of, I fitted a CH pump that didn't work, then something else I picked up that did. Then I got the Kemppi, parts got robbed, the rest ended up on the scrap pile.

I'd like to try out the ihead ball joint torch. That's a great design I think. All the advantages of a flex head but one that can be locked in place and doesn't get weaker with bends. Only down side is I don't think they come water cooled. All the ihead torches have that swappable head which is really good.

Have a look at CK Flex Loc, can be locked into place, watercooled, and no problem with breakages. Jody has a video showing how well they work.

Takes a while to get used to, but after you have used one for a couple of weeks, I doubt you would want to go back to fixed head.

I've used one twice now and don't like the shallow angle of the handle or the torch head off set to one side. It's not for me. Great design but not for me.

How many weeks did you use it for? Took me a couple of weeks to get used to them fully, and now using a fixed head feels awkward and cumbersome.

Not that long mate. About an hour and a half total. I'll stick with what I know. Just replaced my CK with another speedway so I'll not buying any more any time soon.

Afaik they just un twist. Bet the spare ones hold a price tag.

Takes a couple of weeks to get used to Flex Loc, and not sure really possible to get accurate impression after a couple of hours?

Speedway very nicely made, but not as adaptable as Flex Loc, and probably what I would opt for if I wanted a fixed head, and didnt already have 2 Flex Locs and a 450A Speedway for anything 300A on the GP2.

Speaking of torches, how I deal with getting the torch to fit my machine? It has a separate gas connection and a separate plug for the electrics which has 4 plugs. The torches I am looking at seem to have a single line and connector. I did find something about it in the archives but it didn't help me any. I'm wondering if there are stock adapters for this, or if people have to make their own and buy a socket separately or something?

If it's anything like the new kemmpi machines to make torches fit then yes it's a nightmare.
I had a new mls2300 some time back which was gas through power on a 1/4 thread even though it was water cooled and a water cooled torch is always water return through power. What a farce. Any how Jim Davey built the torch for me To go straight on

If it's like this then yes there are adaptors.

Adaptors to fit different torches to Kemppi machines are easily available from Kemppi dealers, and are listed on the Rapid web site.

Dennis, I have the adapter you require. Send me your details via pm, pay me the postage and it is yours...

This is a water cooling adapter for a kemppi machine. Link the hose tail to the bsp port on the top and it becomes an air cooled torch adapter. I might even have a 4 pin mil connector I can throw in as well, if you measure the diameter of the thread for me.

Hugh that sounds great, but that just confuses me more on how this all is supposed to go together. Does that connect to the gas connection or the 4-pin connection? And to what kind of torch is it compatible with?

Gas/power port dennis, converts to a standard (U.K./Europe standard, not USA standard) 3/8bsp torch fitting...

You need to educate yourself on how air cooled/ water cooled torches hook up, plenty of YouTube stuff for that. My post isn't the place to educate you on these things.
