I wouldn't know where to get my hands on those, not an idea where to even begin.

You won't get one unless you want to spend big money on one.
Procon pumps and motors are great for the job but I've seen no evidence to suggest they can be picked up cheap.

That's expensive IMO and it's just the starting bid. Really the kind of money I am willing to spend is reflected in the pump I linked...

I'm a bit maxxed out atm, I need to stop buying things for a while now really... And I feel a DIY setup has to be cheap enough to justify the work over say a used unit. I have learned to be somewhat patient and wait.... I've waited years for some things before I finally moved on them.

The Pro Con pump and motor I bought a couple of years ago was only £25. They dont come up for sale that often though, but I would guess phoning around places that sell and maintain vending machines, would almost certainly result in getting one for the right money. Spending maybe half hour on the phone, and ending up with a top quality pump for a lot less than the sort of thing listed as Tig coolant pump on Ebay, seems to me time well spent..................

Seems a lot better bet than the Tig pumps on Ebay, which all seem to be around the £100 mark! If I didnt already have a spare pump, would have bought that one.

Looking at this, but it's 100psi, I can't find a suitable pump in the 40-50 range for as cheap. Can this be tweaked downwards somehow?

thats identical to the one I used

and how it performs,

the 4mm tubing is about 26ft long in total.
the pump flows 1.7 litres per minute at a pressure of 50psi on a 13.8V bench supply and draws 2.1 amps. the motor was 32c after 15 minutes running, so I'd say it will produce minimal heating of the pump and coolant.

Thanks, that's good to know. I've been offered some old pumps similar to that one now, the guy who has them says they came out of old busses, probably 24v.
