Just a diamond stone dresser on a spring loaded arm deployed with an air cylinder would likely do for marking. Maybe even just using the plasma cutter at a fast rate of knots and low power would do, never tried though.
When i build mine i intend to have similar set up but use a cheap spindle

. Now is it possible to do both, absolutely YES, I have managed to prove that for myself. Do you need it well it is up to you. My slats are 65mm by 3mm flat bar spaced 50mm apart and over the length of 1500mm have a bend of 50mm. Dross can be cleaned up with a penumatic chizel rattling the slats, this gets most of the dross off. I have a penumatic scribe on the plasma head. The routing head will have the machine spindle and a MQL system for when milling alli. The plasma head will also have a USB microscope connected to the computer and run by 'scanything ' which is from 'sheetcam' and yes the drawing must be black on white for best results.
