About a year or so ago i bought a 3D printer as i sucked at CAD and i wanted a CNC plasma cutter
Now i can work CAD i think it is time to carry on with getting a CNC plasma cutter
I have had a few quotes for getting a ready built machine but i fancy having a go at DIYing it
I have been doing so reading and have half an idea for what i am aiming for
Which will be a 4 x 4 foot machine using the Powermax 30 which i have already
I am thinking to make the table and frame to be of the built like a brick outhouse school of thought
While the actual CNC bits to be cheap as chips
Then i i find the CNC table is a good addition to the workshop i can upgrade the CNC bits
If it turns out to be a bag of (insert rude word here) then i can remove the cnc bits and end up with a very nicely built table for handimatic plasma cutting
Now knowing next to sod all about CNC i should really phone a friend
But my phone is knackered and i'm half deaf so thats out
So ideally i'd like to go see someone who has made a machine themselves
@Hood is just down the road from me and he has a CNC machine and i'd like to have a looky once the end of the world is over
I could of sent this request across by PM but sod that as if any useful info is passed between us then I would prefer it to be out in the open for others who might be out there in the same place (building a cnc plasma not the Northeast of Scotland)
