R1's are good for commuting.....
I can't fella, no room and the funds would be useful towards the R1. I'm not offshore anymore and the pennies count these days. I do like it though but the R1 is a keeper and the Street Triple R isn't going so I can keep a budget bike. It's just too good.Very nice R1..(would look better with straight bars)..Cant you keep the SV mate? i hate selling bikes once Ive put my name on them.
The R1 is just like my old one! Quick indeed! I sold mine after a year as I needed to slow down a bit......
I've seen that Moscow vid a few years ago, the guys probably not with us anymore...
Nutter.
Ile tell you what matey, ive just put nearly 500 miles on my FJR over the last 2 weekends and i cant fault it...Fast mile muncher and you get off the other end still able to walk without that 200 mile Gorilla stance we all get with full sports bikes..I can't fella, no room and the funds would be useful towards the R1. Spray brake cleaner around intake rubbers on idle..if no change in RPM then ide be looking at pilot jetsRight just been up the garage to look at the failed Exup valve, I've no chance of getting the bolts off the Exup valve as there is so much rust delamination they look like they've been stripped with a potato peeler  I'll find a used manifold and grease it all up and change it out at some point.
The good thing is it must have been maintained by someone as the valve is free to turn with an 8mm spanner once the pulley wheel is off (thank feck it's the only bolt they used stainless for!!!). The cables do move a little when revved (maybe around 3mm each way) and the servo is clearly operating the cables, could that just be a cable adjustment issue?
Anyway aside from the Exup issue I managed to video and upload the vid. Whether the valve is open or closed (open in the vid) it still make this popping sound. Anyone have an idea??
I'm thinking maybe a valve clearance issue or carbs? Air leak?

That sold fast...was it the bay of pigs?Quick update on the SV.
Just passed the MOT this afternoon.
Managed to repaint the oil cooler and fitted the stainless oil rad guard the other day.
The new owner collects it tomorrow.
